I'm surprised PSG aren't giving him a go and seem intent on letting him go out on loan again.

Yeah I dont get it either from their perspective. Supposedly he isnt against returning to PSG but wants assurances about playing time that they arent giving. Bizarre.

Barcelona feel a deal for Xavi Simons will be more complicated now with many clubs involved. Bayern especially are entering the race really strongly for Simons. Max Eberl is working on the deal and has the green light from Vincent Kompany - both believe that the Dutchman will be a great addition to the squad. Simons is expected to make a decision after the Euros. PSG have no intention of selling the player permanently this summer, but could allow him to leave on loan [

Exclusive | There are concrete negotiations: FC Bayern are pushing to sign #Xavi now! … the 21 y/o is the desired target for the offense. Max Eberl wants him!

Concrete talks about a loan with an obligation to buy of more than €60-70m

Bayern are optimistic about being able to finalize the deal. But Leipzig still have hopes as well! But it is a very complicated arrangement: PSG, PSV, RB and Bayern, all involved.

: 'For Xavi Simons, we're still waiting for the decision of the player. It'll be after the Euros. More than the financial agreement, it's about what the player will decide. Bayern are pushing 'like crazy'. I'm told that Bayern are literally calling every single day to make the deal happen. They're 'obsessed' in a positive way with Simons. But there's still no final agreement and green light from the player. Leipzig are still there'

Manchester United will look to beat Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig to the signature of Paris Saint-Germain winger Xavi Simons, according to Sport.

Simons spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig, where he notched eight goals and 13 assists in the Bundesliga, attracting attention from across Europe in the process.

The situation bears similarities with the deal that United struck for Leny Yoro last week. United were the underdogs to sign Yoro ahead of Real Madrid, and it's the same with Simons as PSG and Leipzig's strong connection makes a deal seemingly straightforward.

However, an opportunity could open itself up for the Red Devils. United boss Erik ten Hag is a huge fan and his new assistant manager Ruud van Nistelrooy is attempting to convince the 21-year-old to join the club.

PSG could be in a position to demand €100 million for the Netherlands international, a figure that would make a deal difficult for Bayern and Leipzig. Bayern have previously made an approach in the region of €70m, but the financial strength of United could win out.

Barcelona have also been linked with Simons. The winger spent time in the youth academy at Barcelona, and the Catalan club are interested. However, they cannot compete with the financial demands any potential deal would bring, which effectively rules them out of the race.

After losing Mbappe, you'd think PSG would want to keep hold of a young star that they can make the face of their post-Mbappe era.

I was going to ask the same thing,  why can't he play for PSG it doesn't make much sense.
