Michael Posted June 16 Posted June 16 (edited) Denmark are clearly the favourites against Slovenia, given the balance they have in their squad and the experience they have in big international competitions. Player for player Denmark are the better side, but Slovenia do have some very dangerous players. Oblak is a world class keeper who will be difficult to beat and if Slovenia can get good service to their star striker Sesko, then he could deliver for Slovenia. All the matches so far at these Euros have been entertaining, I hope this match continues that trend. Edited June 16 by Michael Quote
Michael Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Sesko swivels on the ball and has a powerful long range shot fly inches past the post! Quote
Michael Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Eriksen scores for Denmark! Wind back-heeled the ball in the area to Eriksen, Eriksen then controlled the ball with his chest and then shot it into the corner of the net. That was a lovely worked goal. Slovenia 0-1 Denmark Quote
Administrator Stan Posted June 16 Author Administrator Posted June 16 Half time. Denmark dominant. Slovenia underwhelming and wasteful. Most of the dominance thanks to Eriksen. Quote
Michael Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Superb save by Oblak from Hojlund's close range shot, after the Dane connected with a good cross. Quote
Michael Posted June 16 Posted June 16 (edited) Slovenia's Cerin has a header directed towards the far post go narrowly wide and out. Edited June 16 by Michael Quote
Administrator Stan Posted June 16 Author Administrator Posted June 16 Sporar has to bury that, right in front of goal. Quote
Michael Posted June 16 Posted June 16 A free-kick is whipped in by Slovenia from the wing and Sporar manages to get his foot to the ball but his shot goes wide of the near post. Quote
Michael Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Sesko with a powerful shot that hits the post! Slovenia so close to equalising there! Quote
Administrator Stan Posted June 16 Author Administrator Posted June 16 Goal Slovenia! Deflected shot wrong-foots Kasper. Denmark didn't do enough to kill game off. Quote
Michael Posted June 16 Posted June 16 (edited) Janza equalises for Slovenia! Janza smashes the ball on the half-volley from outside the area, it takes a deflection and finds the back of the net! Slovenia 1-1 Denmark Edited June 16 by Michael Quote

Michael Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Sporar has a shot from a tight angle that is saved by Schmeichel. This has been the most liveliest period of the match it seems. Quote
Michael Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Hjulmand has a long range shot at goal for Denmark, but his effort is straight at Oblak. Quote
Michael Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Slovenia's 2 strikers Sesko and Sporar are substituted out and replaced by Brekalo and Kurtic. The final whistle is blown and it finishes in a draw. I think the Danes will be disappointed with this result, but Slovenia showed how plucky they can be and that they can play a bit themselves. Slovenia 1-1 Denmark Quote
Machado Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Best game of the tournament so far for me. Sesko is some player. Looks like many English clubs are looking to sign him this summer. Excited to see more of him. Quote

Excited to see more of him. I didn't think it was one of the best games of the tournament so far personally, but it was nice to see an under-dog side get a draw. This result also suits England of course as well. As for Sesko, he's a class act, he's had an excellent season at RB Leipzig and he is one of the best strikers out there. There will be a host of big clubs looking to buy him after the Euros. Quote
Rick Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Denmark not winning that has lost me £120, so obviously I hope they lose their next two. Quote
