Apparently Potter was offered the role, then he said he just needs a few days to think it over, and the Leicester hierarchy weren't happy with this, so they went back to Cooper and offered it to him? Apparently Potter wanted a new sporting director, a job which seems untouchable for Jon Rudkin to leave from. And sounds like our board were getting bored. That, or what @Dan alludes to is that the Potter links were 'leaked' by the club at the same time news of ticket prices were announced... Quote
Dave Posted June 20 Posted June 20 I get the impression Graham Potter is waiting to see if the England job becomes available, and Leicester quite rightly don't want to wait until after pre season has started to announce a new manager. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted July 16 Author Administrator Posted July 16 Fatawu confirmed. Interested to see how he makes the step up to PL. Was very exciting to watch last season. Quote
Subscriber Dan+ Posted July 16 Subscriber Posted July 16 Fatawu's really good. Think he immediately becomes our most valuable player. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted August 28 Author Administrator Posted August 28 New attacking signing thankfully - Bilal El Khanouss, Moroccan International. Young, and from Genk who are known to produce very good youngsters. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted November 21 Author Administrator Posted November 21 Fatawu out for the season. Huge blow for us and without putting too much pressure on him or over-reliance, it's a massive hit on our survival hopes. We're now relying on an average (at best) De-Cordova Reid, Ayew, Vardy, Mavididi and El Khannous as our realistic attacking options. Joy. Quote

Dave Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Declared bankrupt by a court in Curaçao, Leicester sponsor BC.GAME is about to lose its licence. Subscriber Dan+ Posted November 28 Subscriber Posted November 28 Top has got to sort this club out man. I've been very anti Rudkin for a long time and he's demonstrably useless but I'm having serious questions of our chief executive Susan Whelan too - this is an absolute embarrassment, again. I can't back this owner while he keeps those two, especially Rudkin in such significant posts. Quote

Club pretty much run into the ground financially and then all of these off-field controversies. Rudkin should have walked ages ago but I think he's too cosy into to the club and with Top. This should be the end of Whelan and I wonder if Top's presence and decisions this week will be the last of one or both of them. Whelan I'm surprised with as she had such a good reputation not just here but across the PL. Perhaps she got above her station and followed the money instead of what's right and ethical. Rudkin has just been a piece of work for far too long. He's now lingering around like a bad smell. Quote
Gunnersaurus Posted November 28 Posted November 28 (edited) The Leicester owner is the son of the guy who died in crash isn't he? That's how they have gone from one of the best run clubs in the league to the one of the worst? Edited November 28 by Gunnersaurus Quote

Rudkin has just been a piece of work for far too long. He's now lingering around like a bad smell. Rudkin is way too comfortable and he may as well partly own the club. He's involved with King Power Racing and OH Leuven too. I mean in a way is he doing too much? Could they not just move him to focus on the racing and get somebody with a track record in? If this club had any analytics working within it they would identify quite how badly we've declined, but you just don't see it. Whelan I've been more lenient with because as I'm about to allude to below, she has got a more successful track record. But blots are appearing on her copybook now and this is just an embarrassment to be honest. It's an episode that's become the norm for this club in 2024 and I think we just need change. Top for me can stay if he makes these changes but until he does I can't support him. You hear that Top got somebody to do an investigation into our processes in the summer of 2022 (Greg Dyke apparently) and he concluded that we needed substantial changes, and he was totally right. But they never arrived. We got relegated and we're now a substantially weaker club. The ITKs claiming he's in regular consultation with an ex manager (I'm going to assume Pearson or Puel, but probably Pearson) who recommends similar. God I'd absolutely love him to bin Rudkin and get Pearson in that role. I think his skillset could genuinely suit it more than management in 2024. The absolute definition of safe pair of hands for us. But fat chance. Pearson never saw eye to eye with Rudkin - tells me everything I need to know straight away frankly. 36 minutes ago, Gunnersaurus said: The Leicester owner is the son of the guy who died in crash isn't he? That's how they have gone from one of the best run clubs in the league to the one of the worst? My very simple explanation is that Vichai has run a business before and actually had to make those tough calls to get where he got to, and Top, his son, simply inherited this rather than worked towards it. So in a way it's actually completely unsurprising that he's not really very good at it. It's a massive shame, and the emotional subject around how he became owner does in the eyes of too many for me alleviate him of blame, but I just can't back this anymore unless he makes some substantial changes. In fairness to him, in the last week, he has actually stepped up somewhat. He's binned the manager against the wishes of the mainstream (who have absolutely no interest in our wellbeing) and publicly called the players out. But he's got to do a lot more for me. Stop letting incompetent people tarnish everything. I can see how our fans struggle to take the emotion and sentiment out of this, but then you just remember how normalised this sort of episode has become at this club now and you really cannot defend it anymore. He's been a really poor owner on the whole. In a substantially weaker position on and off the pitch than we were when he took over, which is usually a good measure. Quote
