Maybe these Peruvians will join a big club like Rio Ave.

That joke has been recycled to death.

Besides, being in the World Cup, putting a decent impression will make sure that people don't see us as minnows anymore which will no doubt improve the reputation of the country and the interest in foreign scouts. That's been the problem since 1982.

Watching Twente vs Ajax in the cup right now. Kluivert and De Ligt are genuinely talented. The Netherlands have a bright future after the disaster that has been the last few years. Some really good talent coming through and from what I've seen, these 2 stand out.

Ex Liverpool player Assaidi breaks some ankles then scores a screamer to tie the game vs Ajax!

1-1 last minute. Penalties I think.

Ajax have dismissed Marcel Keizer, Dennis Bergkamp and Hennie Spijkerman from their duties.

According to Priya Ramesh on Twitter, Ajax said 'the club's leadershup finds there is inadequate confidence in them...the disappointing sporting results have also contributed. There is also a difference in opinion over the implementation of technical policy.'

Apparently Bergkamp and Spijkerman were involved in disagreements with Wim Jonk and Peter Bosz which led to their departures.

Marc Overmars wanted to consider Laudrup to replace Bosz but Bergkamp wanted Keizer and apparently 'tensions have festered for a while now'

Maybe @VanPaddy can shed some more light!

Bergkamp has been a huge problem at the club ever since Cruyff put him in charge of over seeing things,  its really gone bad since Bergkamp fell out with Frank de Boer and has followed on from there with Bosz who really should not of left the club, he was doing a great job.  Rumours are now Bosz will return,  now Bergkamp has left as Bosz never really wanted to leave Ajax after 1 season,  he was forced out.    Keizer was never really the answer also as he has never coached at a high level plus Ajax lost so many players in the summer and didn't buy any replacements especially in defence.    Reiziger and Bogarde will take charge for now.

Put on Feyenoord vs Heracles. Starting to really like this league. I'm not just watching because of Renato Tapia this time.

That was a brilliant goal from Berghuis. That dummy to set up the goal was amazing.

Sven Van Beek gets the second goal. Headed chip over the keeper on a corner. 2-0 now.

Ah bugger. Heracles score and that was on Tapia. Still some faults in the CB role for him I see.

I have to say, Renato Tapia isn't great on high pressure defence. That's his weakness and that's why I prefer him as a CM. He has the offensive traits to play there and that's his natural position. Also less faults to make.

The Amsterdam club sit second in the Eredivisie table but announced in a statement on Thursday afternoon that coach Marcel Keizer and his assistants - former Arsenal striker Bergkamp and Hennie Spijkerman - had been "removed from active duty".

One of the specific reasons stated for Bergkamp's departure was a "difference of opinion" over the implementation of technical policy.

Van der Sar, Ajax's chief executive, told the club's official website: "We had a bad summer and a messy start to the season.

"From a sporting point of view, European elimination (from the Champions League preliminaries) was the low point.

"Marc Overmars and I have frequently spoken in the months afterwards about the permanent volatility of the first team.

"We are not confident that we will achieve the level that we are striving for with Ajax in this way."

Overmars played with Bergkamp at Arsenal between 1997 and 2000, and also featured alongside him for the Dutch national team.

Outgoing Ajax coach Keizer took over in the summer from Peter Bosz, who moved to Borussia Dortmund but was sacked himself earlier this month.

So Ajax are in a mess again, Bergkamp has now fellout with everyone he has worked with at Ajax, even very close friends, Marc Overmars and before Frank de Boer, it seems Bergkamp is impossible to work with.
