Dave
How much do you reckon he will go for @Stan @Dan? Another loan move move on the horizon?
Subscriber Dan+ Posted July 22, 2018 Subscriber Share Posted July 22, 2018 Absolutely laughable if we loan him back to Sporting. That'll make it him, Musa and Mendy who we paid a total of sixty million for all loaned back to the clubs we bought them from. I'd rather he was sold to be honest. Just a totally stupid transfer from us.
Administrator Stan Posted July 22, 2018 Administrator Share Posted July 22, 2018 Saw a rumour we'd cut our losses and sell him for £18m. Not sure how I feel about that to be honest...

Not sure how I feel about that to be honest... I'd be amazed if we got that much for him. We paid grossly over the odds. There was never going to be any decent resale value on Slimani. He isn't completely useless but he's a bad fit for us. The team's got to be built around him for him to succeed and when we already have Vardy it's a waste of time because he's not as good. A big black mark against Ranieri this one. It was him who demanded we signed him on deadline day.

Islam Slimani: Monaco sign Leicester City striker on loan Leicester City striker Islam Slimani has joined French side Monaco on loan until the end of the season. The Algerian, 31, joined the Foxes from Sporting Lisbon on a five-year deal in 2016 for £29m, a then club record. He has also had loan spells with Fenerbahce in Turkey and at Premier League rivals Newcastle United. Slimani, who has scored 13 goals in 46 Leicester appearances, could make his Monaco debut at home to Nimes in Ligue 1 on Sunday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49418438
Administrator Stan Posted August 21, 2019 Administrator Share Posted August 21, 2019 Good luck to him. Only real contributions were in the Champions League for his and the odd goal here and there in the PL. Just didn't work out. Like some other signings in that summer 2016 transfer window. Our business was quite underwhelming in that time, to put it nicely.
Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted October 24, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted October 24, 2019 Monaco have an option to buy their on-loan Leicester and Algeria striker Islam Slimani, 31, and sources abroad say the fee is a quarter of the £29m the Foxes paid for him in 2016. Subscriber Dan+ Posted October 24, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted October 24, 2019 We're taking £7mill all day at his age. To be fair to him there are worse players out there. Was just a badly thought out buy.
