No certainly not Argentina, women here are slim and not very voluptuous, you wouldn't be able to distinguish an Italian woman from an Argentine one most of the times. Not giving clues just yet, just think..

nudge Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Why did many pirates wear eye patches (even those that were not missing an eye)?

To conserve an eye in case their parrot pecks them? Seriously, because they have travelled throughout the 7 seas?, because it inspires respect?, because it`s like a long tradition or an oath?

Moderator Tommy Posted January 21, 2019 Moderator Posted January 21, 2019 Does it have something to do with the sunlight?

My guess would be that they are saving the patched eye? Like, if the other one is blinded or irritated, they have a good one as a back-up. I'M TERRIBLE AT EXPLAINING SHIT.
Berserker Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 To prevent the sun from blinding them/hurting their eyes?, to prevent the sun from blinding/hurting their eyes and thus making them lose course?

No that's not what I'm looking for Although you both are very close. Think about it. Sunlight AND related fighting conditions when taking over another ship. That's a big enough hint
Moderator Tommy Posted January 21, 2019 Moderator Posted January 21, 2019 brb making a phone call to Somalia.
Berserker Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Because they think it gives them an edge in battle over other pirates not wearing them because they're not as distracted/bothered by sunlight?

It is something that gives them an edge in battle... it's more specific though haha. Last hint - the fight often happens both above and below deck. Why would an eyepatch on one eye be useful?
Moderator Tommy Posted January 21, 2019 Moderator Posted January 21, 2019 The patched eye is obviously adjusted to the darkness, so they can see better with it below deck.

Moderator Tommy Posted January 21, 2019 Moderator Posted January 21, 2019 So how does this work? Do I ask a question now?

Moderator Tommy Posted January 21, 2019 Moderator Posted January 21, 2019 Why do companies often put a small harmless amount of sugar in cat food, even though cats can't taste sweetness?

Berserker Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 So that it's more tolerable in case some idiot mistakes it for human food?, because it's cheaper to make it that way?
