nudge Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 Nice pic. But it's just a frozen lake - what's the big deal?

And I guess how severely frozen it is too.

Sure anything below -40 is extreme but that's just in a few places anyway and one would think a developed country should be able to deal with it especially since it's not the first time it happens?...

I don't see this ceremony for the first time and still don't know what is the purpose of this event. Instead of pretending to be civilized nations from the outside and have severe hate ,anti sentiments for each others and feeling superior than the other like Japanese and Chinese Arabs and Persians and most other rivals. We sub continental people express that openly without the violence and don't hold any grudges
Administrator Stan Posted March 22, 2019 Administrator Posted March 22, 2019 Very nice @nudge Saw that when I finished football yesterday but missed the chance to take a photo from where I was Looked spectacular with it being so low and large and reddish hue.

I spent maybe half an hour outside with my camera and tripod trying to get it right Still doesn't do it justice as it indeed looked spectacular...

Moderator CaaC (John) Posted April 20, 2019 Moderator Posted April 20, 2019 Beautiful sunny day here in Leith, I went downtown, took a wander in Leith Links Park where there some people sun-baking or just leisurely taking a stroll, in the Kirkgate Square where the guy from the Birdlife Sanctuary was there so was a Carribean Band on the Square singing and dancing, the temperature was not too hot for me but just nice at 21/23 c.
Moderator CaaC (John) Posted April 20, 2019 Moderator Posted April 20, 2019 Some more photos of Leith. Mother & Father with chicks when they were first born on the Waters of Leith, they were (chicks) playing around with an empty can and plastic bottle that some arsehole had tossed into the water, lucky it did not do them any harm. Now grown and the mother & father you can just see in the far left of the photo. Sunrise at the back of our flat's near the Old Railway Path Sunset on Leith Links Park A foggy morning in the Links when I was taking wee Kaiden to the Nursery last year. Wee Kaiden kept running ahead of me in the foggy day photo, hiding behind a tree then jump out when I got near and yelling "BOO" and I had to pretend I had got a fright and had to go "AHHHH you frightened me. Whenever me or Liz picked him up from Nursery and walk him home to our place he loved a 20-minute play around in the park and the swings etc.

Moderator CaaC (John) Posted May 2, 2019 Moderator Posted May 2, 2019 I love this time of the year as the apple & cherry blossoms come out in full bloom here on Leith Links Park, standing at the bus stop this afternoon on my way to pick the wee man up from school and the wind was knocking the blossoms off the trees and they were falling down like pink & white snow and blowing all over the place.
Administrator Stan Posted May 19, 2019 Administrator Posted May 19, 2019 Parents went to Scotland last week and visited various places - Edinburgh, Stirling, Fort William, Ben Nevis. Couple of pictures they sent us...
