Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted January 27, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted January 27, 2019 Quote Manchester City are reportedly looking at Schalke midfielder Sebastian Rudy as a replacement for Fernandinho. By Joe Bray 20:00, 27 JAN 2019 Manchester City will reportedly have to pay £35m for Schalke midfielder Sebastian Rudy as they continue the search for a replacement for Fernandinho. The Sun say City have identified Rudy as a potential replacement for Fernandinho - who is the only recognised defensive midfielder in their squad and will turn 34 before the start of next season. The report claims City wanted to loan Rudy from the Bundesliga side, and a temporary deal remains an option if there is a fee involved. But if City were to sign German international Rudy, 28, permanently they will have to pay a huge £35m fee according to the report. City missed out on the signing of Ajax midfielder Frenkie De Jong last week, as the Dutchman opted to join Barcelona. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-city-schalke-rudy-matondo-15739866

SchalkeUK
Worth it? - definitely NO. He is not even one of idiot Tedesco's first choice squad men - when the other useless guys are fit Rudy will again be relegated to the bench, although he is undoubtedly far better than most of the others in the squad. If the interest is serious, Tedesco will try and hold on, but when the time comes for a new contract he will be available for free like the rest of our good team last season - sadly he is signed until 2022!. He certainly has the experience to be useful to a better side with a proper Manager and his time at Bayern would be useful to the Man City Manager, but Hoffenheim to Bayern and then to Schalke is not an upward sort of progression!! SchalkeUK
Man City ha sold us their up and coming young winger. Good prospect, but he will be abused and misused at 04 at present and will soon wish he had never done this!
