No disrespect to Stuttgart, but they'd really be two steps down for Yann Sommer.

I don't disagree but it's not like Gladbach deserved him either.

I mean he did play Champions League and Europa League with them.

So looking at the rumor mill we are interested in a few players for replacements:

Chris Richards, the ex-Bayern/Hoffenheim defender - sold to Crystal Palace last season and played 9 times, didn't do much in England

Sturm Graz midfielder Alexander Prass - don't know anything about him

Frankfurt midfielder Kristian Jakic - don't know anything about him

The Angelo Stiller deal hasn't gone anywhere apparently as Hoffenheim aren't interested in selling.

I suspect that Sosa will be gone this offseason so it makes sense.

You were right.

I feel like VfB have benefited from a pretty soft schedule thus far.  The matchup against Wolfsburg this coming weekend will be a real test to see if this is all hype or whether the team is really that good.  I don't think they are European places good, but certainly a top half finish is realistic.

7 Stuttgart players nominated for the EA FC24 team of the season.  Of course I voted for all 7.

Lots of links to Stuttgart players this summer.  Guirassy, Führich, Anton, and now Ito being the latest.  I expect some sales this summer but a complete gutting of the team and we'll do an Union in the CL.

Stuttgart should sell a maximum of 2 of their better players and they should reinvest that money wisely in new players. Selling most of their in demand players is not what they should be doing.

Man Stuttgart just getting gutted; Ito, Guirassy, now Anton. Theres also been plenty out there about Führich. This is the state of football these days I guess.

Front line of Demirovic and Undav is lecker.  Looking forward to the season starting now that we've shored up all the holes.  Still wouldn't mind seeing another CB.

I didn't think the loss of Anton and Ito would matter so much... or at least I didn't want to admit it.  But our defense is gash.  15 goals shipped in 7 games is awful.  Hopefully a clean sheet against Kiel this weekend.
