The article I was able to find on this said that the grandmother of the girls went to police numerous times, but nothing was done - so she asked a neighbour to contact the TV, and the neighbour did. Another article talked to another neighbour, and he said that the family is asocial, with both parents being unemployed alcoholics, so he thought it was likely that the family staged it all and forced the daughters to tell all that in order to get some money for being on that TV show. Yet another article said that the father admitted he had been molesting the girls, and that they were now living with their grandma in a flat with broken windows and no running water.
