Panna King Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Quote Manchester City have re-signed their former full back Angelino from PSV Eindhoven. The 22-year-old was in the North West on Wednesday to finalise a switch back to the Premier League champions. City have activated a £5.3million buy-back clause after selling Angelino to the Eredivisie outfit last year. Shame PSV have lost Angelino, he was class last season and only to get 5.3 million is a robbery not sure why PSV agreed to that clause, when Ajax are getting huge money for their players.

This isn't the first time I've heard of PSV putting really low buy back clauses on the players they sign. Weird because it's actually smart business from City, rather than paying well over the odds for someone.

They done it before with Alex who went to Chelsea, they could of got huge money for him but Chelsea got him for 8 million.

We had a buy back clause, they was only borrowing him, the robbery would of been the amount PSV paid for him in the first place

That's not actually correct. I recall the transfer of Alex to PSV and it was a chain purchase. The basic economics of the deal was Alex was always a Chelsea player. It was a loan that circumvented work permit requirements in the UK.
Subscriber Dan+ Posted July 6, 2019 Subscriber Posted July 6, 2019 It's just baffling how they'd allow such a low clause.

Chelsea bought him first but sold him straight away to PSV but Chelsea bought him back for some really low amount, was very a strange deal anyway.

They maybe could of got someone at similar quality without the risk of losing them for next to nothing.
