  1. I used to really like some of the players that Norwich City had in their team a few seasons ago. But I look at their team today and no one really stands out. Sara is probably the pick of their players, but the rest look pretty average. Leeds on the other hand have so many players who are well rated and they could easily hold their own in the Premier League. I guess it's not really a surprise that Leeds finished 17 points ahead of Norwich City this season in the Championship table.
  2. Yeah, it's a shame that Brandt has been dropped in my opinion. Who would I have dropped in order to keep Brandt in the squad? Well Nagelsmann has named 27 players, meaning he will still have to drop 1 player for the Euros to make it a 26 man squad. I am assuming it will be one of the 4 keepers that he drops, it's mad to take that many keepers for a short competition like the Euros. I'd also keep the defenders he's selected, as he's named 5 central defenders, 2 right-backs and 2 left-backs. The selection in defence seems balanced to me. But yeah, Pavlovic would probably be the first player I would replace with Brandt. Pavlovic hasn't been capped once yet for Germany and he is still young and quite inexperienced, despite his huge talent potential. I think there are plenty of players who could currently cover for him in the squad anyway. Gross has been Brighton's best player this season in the Premier League. He is not flashy, but he is a real workhorse, who does the dirty work in midfield. But he is a late bloomer really and he was only capped recently at the age of 32. So yeah, they are the 2 I'd consider replacing with Brandt. Although Brandt plays in a different position to those 2 we've mentioned, he is much more experienced at international level and he has just had an excellent season with Dortmund, where he has been one of the most creative players in Europe. Of the forwards I might potentially replace with Brandt, you might find this shocking, but I'd say Undav. Although Undav has scored a lot of goals for high flying Stuttgart this season, he is also highly inexperienced playing for Germany. He only has one international cap to his name that he recently picked up. Moreover, he is not the quickest of forwards and he is also not great in the air. He is a natural penalty box finisher and he has shown himself to be great at that this season, but does not have the all-round abilities the other forwards in the team have in my view. It wasn't long ago he was really struggling at Brighton. Beier and Fullkrug for example, have a much more rounded game from what I have seen. Fullkrug for example, is much better in aerial duels than Undav. Havertz has to be selected because of his great season at Arsenal and the impressive talent that he has, while Thomas Mueller has that vital experience for Germany. He has been there and done it so many times, he is just the kind of experienced player that one should take to a tournament like this.
  3. I didn't say it was the most ever either, just as good as it's been in other exciting seasons. I know you didn't call it shite, but I was referring to the question to this thread, as it is hyperbole in my opinion.
  4. You don't believe that it's been an exciting season? The fact that there's been so many goals adds to the excitement. It's been one of the most exciting season's in recent years in my book. You say VAR screwing teams over, but what about refs screwing teams over in previous years and at a much higher rate? The level of football has been good similar to other exciting seasons. Moreover, the fact that the title race has gone to the last day of the season, makes it more entertaining than last season for example. To call this Prem season "shite", is just delusion and hyperbole in my humble opinion.
  5. Come on you know what I mean, I think most people will say it's been exciting. We've had a title race go down to the last day of the season and we've generally had some very entertaining matches being played. Of course this is all subjective, but most football fans I've talked to tend to have a similar opinion to me.
  6. The Prem has been as exciting as it has ever been this year. The title is essentially going down to the last day of the season, even though it would take almost a miracle for Man City not to beat West Ham at the Etihad this weekend, given what's at stake and how Man City have been playing. I've really been impressed with Arsenal, Rice and Odegaard in that midfield is just a joy to watch and they are so strong in other areas of the pitch as well. Chelsea are finally gaining form and playing like they should be playing after a disastrous season overall by their standards. I've enjoyed watching the Premier League this season.
  7. Just going by these reports The head coach of the German national team, Julian Nagelsmann, has decided not to summon the leader of Borussia Dortmund to the national team. As reported by Sky Sports, midfielder Julian Brandt will not be part of the squad for the 2024 European Championship. Another Borussia Dortmund leader will not go to the 2024 UEFA EURO | Dailysports
  8. Dortmund's Julian Brandt has been dropped from Germany's 2024 Euro Squad. Apparently only 2 Dortmund players have been selected for the Euros this summer, despite the fact that Dortmund have reached the Champions League Final. But the exclusion of Brandt I find the most shocking, he has played very well this season in the matches I have seen him play in. It's a shame that he won't play for Germany on home soil at Euro 2024.
  9. Girona suffered a blow to their ambitions of finishing in 2nd place in the La Liga Table, as they lost at home to Villarreal by a single goal. Villarreal were the better side in the opening quarter of an hour, creating several chances, but then Girona did get into their stride and they started creating chances of their own. Tsygankov had a swerving shot go centimetres past the far post. Dovbyk then forced a save from Villarreal keeper Jorgensen. But it was in the 2nd half that Villarreal were the team to actually break the deadlock, as Bertrand Traore swept the ball home into the far corner of the net, after the ball fell to him in the penalty area. Girona tried to instantly reply, as only moments later, Tsygankov played a one two with Eric Garcia and then unleashed a powerful left footed shot from outside the area that crashed against the underside of the cross-bar. Soon after that, Lopez had a header cleared off the line by a Villarreal defender and then Savio followed up with a powerful shot that flew over the bar. There were further chances for both sides, but ultimately, Villarreal were able to hold on to the valuable win. Full-Time Score: Girona 0-1 Villarreal
  10. Real Madrid ran out 5-0 winners in the end, scoring 2 more goals in the 2nd half through Vinicius Junior and Arda Guler. Real Madrid dominated possession and really gave a 5 star performance at home in the Bernabeu. Although Alaves did create chances, particularly through the energetic Hagi, who forced 3 good saves from Courtois. But ultimately Real Madrid were firing on all cylinders, where Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, Camavinga, Kroos, Valverde and Courtois all gave excellent performances. Real Madrid are playing some of the best football they've played all season and look well prepared for the Champions League Final at Wembley on the 1st of June. Full-Time Score: Real Madrid 5-0 Alaves
  11. It's 0-0 at half-time between Girona and Villarreal, but Girona have been much the better side. Tsygankov, Aleix Garcia and Savio have all played very well, while Dovbyk has battled hard upfront on his own. Girona really need the win if they want to keep their chances of beating Barcelona to that 2nd place position alive. I think that Girona should break the deadlock in the 2nd half, they are bound to up the pressure even further in the 2nd half. Girona 0-0 Villarreal
  12. Real Madrid are leading 3-0 at half-time against Alaves at the Bernabeu thanks to goals from Bellingham, Vinicius Jnr and Valverde. Alaves have had no answers defensively in reply to Real Madrid's quality. Going forward Alaves have created chances with Ianis Hagi their only real bright spark. But with Real Madrid's quality and Bellingham as well as Vinicius Jnr on fire, I think we can expect Real Madrid to add some more goals in the 2nd half. Real Madrid 3-0 Alaves
  13. Romero's mistake really there, he should have done much better there. Spurs's defence was excellent in the 1st half, especially Dragusin's performance. But Man City are just too good, they have so much quality in their side. I would love Spurs to still get something from this game, but it looks highly unlikely now, as Spurs really need the win and I can see City capitalising if Spurs commit too many players forward.
  14. Their defence has been excellent though. Those of us who want Arsenal to win the league will want Spurs's defence to stay strong, so that Spurs at least get a point from this game.
  15. Dragusin and Romero were excellent in the defence in that 1st half for Spurs. Dragusin looks really good. Maddison also played well in midfield. If Spurs can keep up this performance, they look like they have a good chance of getting something from this match. However, I feel that Man City will turn up the pressure in the 2nd half in search of that winning goal, but Spurs have been excellent so far. Fingers crossed Spurs get something from this match.
  16. Spurs have played well so far and their defence has looked solid. It would be great if they could just even get a point from today's game, as that would really boost Arsenal's chance of winning the title.

    Boxing

I saw this yesterday, absolutely disgusting behaviour and completely uncalled for. I've never liked John Fury, he's an absolute thug and a terrible example for anyone who wants to get into sport. Tyson Fury ain't perfect, but he's still turned out ten times better than his father. I also quite like Tyson's uncle Peter Fury, he is quite insightful when he talks about boxing and he seems nothing like his idiotic brother John. That headbutt was completely out of order, all the victim Stepchuk was doing, was chanting "Usyk! Usyk! Usyk!", when he and John Fury walked past each other. Yet John Fury claims that Stepchuk was in his personal space and that he was being very disrespectful. Sorry, but those excuses don't wash, Stepchuk wasn't that close to John when they walked past each other and it was expected for Stepchuk to be chanting Usyk's name when he is a part of 'Team Usyk'. John should be punished for that attack, but he most probably will unfortunately get away with it.
  18. It's great to see Parma win the Serie B title and secure their place back in Serie A for next season. Parma were a top side in the 90's, regularly competing in European competitions and winning trophies. Parma only lost 4 league matches all season and they played some impressive football. It will be great to see them perform again in Serie A next season. Parma players like the Romanian wingers, Dennis Man and Valentin Mihaila, Spanish midfielder Adrian Bernabe, as well as young French forward Ange Yoan-Bonny and Polish forward Benedyczak all particularly impressed in helping Parma win the Serie B title and finish as champions. Parma will have a tough task holding onto these important players over the summer transfer window and it will be interesting to see who they will buy as well. But if Parma can maintain the same level of football that they showed in Serie B this season, then they should do quite well when they perform once again in Serie A next season.
