  1. X-Pac Heat is basically 'Go Away Heat'. Triple H had it in Evolution when he was Champion forever, John Cena had it almost a decade, JBL had it when he first became a Champion, Roman Reigns had it until he was diagnosed with leukaemia, Baron Corbin has had it most his career. When I see people going on about how MJF is a far better heel than Baron Corbin and Baron Corbin should just go away, they're missing the point. That's exactly what WWE want them to think. WWE get that no matter how heavy people boo now, these people will be looked back fondly in 10+ years from now. People on Twitter have started going on about how great 2009, 2010 etc was and how much better those days were. I just sit there remembering what the internet was like back then and how everybody thought WWE sucked. I will say only WWE can get away with it in America given how established they are. AEW seem to be trying it with Brandi Rhodes and I dont think they're in a position to do so.
  2. I thought the Rumble was well written with Brock Lesnar. Every elimination had a purpose and he sold The Claymore Kick. I didnt think they'd pull the trigger on Drew but I'm glad they have. Charlotte winning wasnt ideal but I'm prepared to be patient and see how they progress this. Winning the Rumble gives her more heat. X-Pac Heat has pretty much been considered a good thing since, well, X-Pac.
  3. So an update on this graph: Two players under 28 have gone. Roy Hodgson wanted 4 or 5 more players. We have been left with one player less. We need a new owner fast. I'm surprised Roy is putting up with this. 20 out of the 24 Chanpionship clubs have spent more than us in the last four transfer windows.
  4. The Gentlemen 9.5/10 If you like Snatch, Lock Stock etc you'll really like this. Set in modern Britain. It's got a good story balanced with very good acting and good humour. The year has started very strong with this and 1917.
  5. A creative, adventurous attacking midfielder. We'll knock that out of him.
  6. Marty Scurll staying with ROH on WWE wages as the head booker His popularity could go a long way to restoring their popularity.
  7. Tessa Blanchard.
  8. Impact went ahead and put the title on Tessa. How very TNA of them.
  9. I thought everybody knew she was an arse? Either way, that tweet was terrible timing given she must have known she would get heat for it.
  10. I hope there's some truth to the NJPW American company if they're not going to collaborate with ROH or AEW long term. Always enjoyed Osprey, Sabre, GOD etc in ROH and if we can see them with appearances from the likes of Tanahashi and Okada then happy days. You didn't miss anything from what I remember. I enjoyed the Jericho/Jungle Boy show as they put talent over and there was a lot of decent matches, but the majority of the internet absolutely slated it. There was a sketch where somebody noticed blatant fake punches that was blown all out of proportions. ---- On a side I called BT Sports to see what they could do with my package. As a loyal customer of 6+ years they sorted me BT Sports, multi room, BT app and Entertainment HD whilst reducing my monthly payments. Probably the best customer service I've ever had. AEW really need to sort out this deal with ITV they have. It could have been absolutely massive for them, but showing it on a Friday evening must cost them so much viewers. By that time everyone has just streamed it. Despite my initial scepticism BT Sports are absolutely owning it with there WWE coverage.
  11. Given the vague links with MLW I'm surprised AEW haven't made a ploy to get The New Era Hart Foundation. I'm presuming they haven't because they're not exactly the quiet types on social media. The marketability factor is pretty much there. I wasnt aware of John Morrison being on BTE but to be honest I'm quite happy to see him back in WWE. I'd quite like to see Matt Sydal back at some point too.
  12. I get why they went for a commentary team of Tony Schiavonne and Jim Ross as it adds a legitimate, authentic feel to the new broadcast given one was the voice of TNT and the other was the voice of the competitor. But I really hope over time they look to fade them out. Schiavonne on the whole has done a good job but last week JR didnt know the name of about three or four of the wrestlers and had to be assisted. That is poor research and does nothing to help grow those characters. Excalibur is doing a good job given his modern day knowledge but they could, you know, explain why he wears a mask and not pretend it's completely normal. Goldenboy would be my choice long term to be JR's replacement given how natural he performed at the PPV he commentated. I think Marty Scrull will end up in AEW eventually given all the hints they have dropped on BTE. If he does go over there, I hope it's under The Villian Enterprise faction as hes done a very good job at increasing their marketability within the last twelve months. Albeit they do need to cut down on some of the "Oooo scary" groups at the minute. I like Pepper Parks but signing him when you've already got The Dark Order just seems pointless. I'm not even going to mention whatever is going on with Brandi Rhodes. Other than Marty Scrull I think there recruitment for the next year needs to be your heavyweights that can move like Jeff Cobb, Brian Cage, Brodie Lee etc. All the new talent they're promoting well (Jungle Boy, Darby Allan, Kip Sabian, Sammy Guevara etc) all have one thing in common. Half the audience look like they can beat them up.
  13. Theres a couple of things they need to improve on but they seem to be self aware. No vignettes were a big criticism of mine which they've started doing, the womens divison being poor was another where they've now added Kris and Swole, camera angles being off queue is a BIG problem but I think that'll be rectified after the recent fake punch fiasco with The Dark Order. I think they're doing ok. They're going through the "they cant do anything right" phase at the minute. I saw people criticise Cody for responding to fans on Twitter as its "small time", I mean come on people. People just need to bare in mind they're learning. Theres a real lust and desire for wrestling fans to criticise everything. Even things that are happening after the show which nobody else are meant to be seen are being criticised. Sometimes people just need to take a step back and enjoy what's going right.
  14. I think it's fair to say that we need this takeover to happen pretty quickly. This makes concerning reading.
  15. It seems like WWE are putting weekly shows ahead of second rate PPVs after the way TLC went. I don't have a problem with it but I'd rather them go back to the old concept where Raw and Smackdown have there own individual PPVs every 2/3 months (raw get backlash, smackdown get judgement day etc) just to make the second rate PPVs feel more meaningful.
  16. I've quite enjoyed the upper midcard zone of Raw since the draft. With The OC as the major heel, Rey as the focal point, and then having guys like Ricochet, Drew, Orton, Humberto etc fight around them. It's a damn lot better than the set up they had last year. We wont know officially for another 5-10 years but I'd like to find out the impact Paul Heyman is having on the direction of people like Street Profits, Viking Raiders, Buddy Murphy and Aleister Black. They've really become a focal point of the product every week. Imagine thinking that a year ago.
  17. I've never got the obsession with Dave Meltzer's match ratings. Back in the day of dail up I understand why they were important but given theres so many varied ways of entertainment through wrestling in present society I don't get how they can compare everything any more to the point where one persons opinion holds so much weight. Especially given, they both (more so Alvarez) come across as anti-WWE and overly pro to AEW.
  18. Caught up on Survivor Series week. I must say, despite my initial criticisms I feel that WWE have played out this invasion angle very well. When Rhea Ripley, Keith Lee, Tomasso Ciampa, Shayna Baszler and Adam Cole move to another brand they'll be ready to feud with Becky Lynch, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan etc straight away because of it.
  19. With the fine margins that managers are being sacked VAR is the way forward. It's unfortunately just being implemented poorly in this country. Why is the ref not allowed to go to the touch line? Why do the people reviewing the incidents not know the rules? Why is everything being reviewed and not clear and obvious errors? Once these get addressed it will be fine. It's worked well overseas and in the world cup. It can work well here. I'd suggest that over two thirds of the people that complain about VAR are the type of fans that moan about change. I was at the London Stadium when it took forever to review the Jordan Ayew goal, was I bothered? Nope because I knew they would come to the right decision. I was more annoyed after the Liverpool and Arsenal games when I saw decisions that hadn't been reviewed which really should have been.
  20. VAR is not the problem. All VAR has shown that the referees in this country are abysmal. Clear and Obvious has become an absolute farce because of these idiots controlling it. What I will say is that one good thing VAR has done is shown how stupid the offside rule is by having it by such a small margin. We want attacking football, we want goals, make the margain greater.
  21. I enjoyed it for what it is. Still cant get behind the womens divison, the bastard Pac is looking good, surprised Young Bucks took another L but was happy with the match, glad Scropio Skys getting a lot of attention, and I didn't mind the Cody/Jericho ending as its building to something. Cant believe people have moaned and complained about wanting The Attitude Era back and then thought Omega/Mox was too graphic. Wrestling fans are the worst part about wrestling.
  22. I'm pretty sure every shoot interview ever has Bruce Pritchard laughing about an idea that turns out to be good.
  23. 14 years since Eddie
  24. Wout Weghorst would be completely alienated with the way we play any way and would struggle to score 8 or more goals. It's a complete non runner. Max Meyer, Jairo Riedewald and now unfortunately Victor Camarasa all look devoid of confidence and I do put that down to poor man management from Roy.
