  1. It's all going down on Twitter with Jordan Myles at the minute.
  2. The only store there is that a global enterprise like Manchester United couldn't pay the whole fee upfront.
  3. Bruce Pritchard and Conrad Thompsons podcast on the WWE network was my favourite to listen too in that sense. His episodes of Russo, AJ Styles and ECW were good to listen too. It helped that Conrad Thompson wasn't scared to criticise his views at any given opportunity.
  4. Pretty a much a spot on description of Cornette. I disagree about him turning down the opportunity to go to AEW. He just strikes me as someone who would sell his morals quite quickly. Theres a guy I never heard of before I got back on Twitter called JDfromNY whose the only person I think I've blocked. Nobody needs to read so much negativity in there life. Yeah, I've enjoyed all there shows to be honest. Everybody's wanted to see show that can offer an alternative to WWE and has financial clout so let's just embrace it. Classic Jericho. Its sad to see him out of shape but still one of the best talkers in the game.
  5. I nicked @Devil-Dick Willie's comment about Cody/Dustin match being a WWE match with blood and not worthy of 5 stars. The reaction reached a level of anger that Dustin was likeing the replies.
  6. Jim Cornette is a gimp. Always has been. Even when he has a point he goes far OTT to be taken seriously. When he talks about AEW he comes across as bitter that he will never be considered serious enough to be a part of the project. It's the same with Vince Russo and all those other helmets that should be left in the 90s.
  7. He does a lot for the charities in the area, like I imagine quite a lot of footballers do. We just don't hear about it because it doesn't sell stories.
  8. You've nailed it really. If AEW try and go up against WWE with celebrities, lack of wrestling etc they will fail. Theres a reason RoH, NJPW, MLW, NWA and Impact were able to expand there brands in the US in 2018 without WWE assistance and that's because there is a demand for wrestling. I'm surprised Young Bucks have taken big losses already. You know if that was Triple H that would never be happening.
  9. If we get him for that price then Steve Parish has played a blinder.
  10. The mistake was putting The Fiend and Seth Rollins in a match against each other in the first place. A HIAC match is not the match to have when you want nobody to lose.
  11. Smackdown was very good last night.
  12. AEW had such a brilliant opportunity with ITV its borderline amusing how its played out. What should have been a PR masterstroke has turned in to a PR disaster.
  13. A good first show from AEW. Nothing spectacular but something to build on. @Devil-Dick Willie will love seeing how Moxley "ddt'd" Omega on a glass table. WWE had all basis covered with there big surprise on NXT this evening. The first round has gone to them.
  14. Maybe Wayne Hennessey is a genius for pretending hes really, really stupid?
  15. I think you're right. I think the owners have a mentality of "this business model works" but the emergence of AEW have moved the parameters a lot. Guys like Joey Janela for example would have done a successful stint in ROH before. I dont blame them at all. That PPV at MSG should have been huge for both companies but instead they were missing big names that would have given them much wider publicity. The emergence of AEW will no doubt have a positive knock on effect with WWE but the cut backs for ROH and Impact have already began.
  16. I'm looking forward to it. AEW have done very well to get a deal with ITV and TNT. If they make an impact on ITV they could be more viable to a bigger audience in the UK than WWE on BT Sports from next year. The better AEW gets, the better NXT will get, and the better Raw and Smackdown will get to keep NXT perception as a third brand. NXTs pure existence is to combat any threat and that's evident by multiple decisions made over the years. NXT pay per views in 2019 have been better than the AEW pay per views, but comparing the main events the likes of Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley and Cody Rhodes are bigger house hold names than those on NXT. As already touched upon, WWE can combat this quite easily by moving established upper midcarders who people want to see main event (Andrade, McIntyre, Nakamura, Balor etc) back to NXT. It's a win win for everybody really. Most of the big concerns with WWE people had at the start of the year are being resolved, and with there poor track record of listening you have to imagine the existence of a well funded new company is the reason for that. On a side note I really do feel for ROH who have suffered because of all this already. They have always been great at creating new stars but it doesnt feel like that's happening with Matt Taven. You imagine they'll lose Marty Scrull by the end of the year too.
  17. More concerning is how Hoothroyd got the job in the first place given his style of football got him sacked from Northampton after they were bottom of league two.
  18. Perry Saturn was given that gimmick as a punishment for legitimately attacking Mike Bell during a match. The irony is that Perry Saturn went from being on superstars to appearing on Raw and Smackdowm every week because of the good reaction he got with moppy. So in a way it worked out well.
  19. Theres a player in him. The player that joined us in January 2017 was ten times the player we saw in December 2017. It must have been utterly demoralising for him not to get picked when he was our only fit forward. I do wonder if he was the victim of a political power struggle between Roy and Dougie as Roy continually picked him out. Hopefully it will be one step backwards to move two step forwards as he genuinely seems like a really nice bloke.
  20. Just seen that rumour doing the rounds and I'd take that from a Palace perspective. Roy clearly doesn't rate Sorloth, and his confidence has been shot to pieces because of it to the point where I dont see him ever succeeding here. I'm not really sure how he would do at Brentford, from what people have said the blew hot and cold on loan at Genk.
  21. @Danny The rumour on Ollie Watkins has gone a little cold but Dougie Freedman has been a massive fan since he was at Exeter. Unfortunately with our current position, I dont think were in a position to invest on developing talent because our owners want to sell up. Which is frustrating as we have seen a wealth of talent emerge that would really buy in to our club ethos (Watkins, Eze, Maja etc).
  22. You have to admire Brentfords scouting policy. Take Ezri Konsa for example, picked up after a good season with Chatlton, hes had one good season with Brentford and they've made a big profit on him. What do they now do? Sign Ethan Pinnock from Barnsley, a player whose very similar to Konsa but had a better season at league one level. They've done something similar with Bentley and Raya too. I had them down for promotion last season under Dean Smith, obviously I didnt anticipate the manager would be off. I'm not sold on automatic promotion just because I'm not fully convinced by the manager, but the playoffs isnt an unrealistic ambition at the moment.
  23. They're trying everything to get raitings up to be fair to them. The problem with wrestling is the fan base. You give them what they want. People moan after two months that its stale.
  24. The way people have gone about it I thought he grabbed her by the throat and raised her off the floor with blood coming out her eyes. Let's be honest, given the secluded bubble most people in government live in hes probably never been in a situation of conflict before. I very much doubt he would have received any training to deal with such a situation and for all we know she could have had anything on her. I dont expect any action to be taken here.
  25. I completely agree. Before I agreed with the justification that theres only so much time on each show but they waste so much time on recaps of previous shows, previews to future shows and promoting Shane McMahon they must lose about a third of the show. The Raw after DoN was an absolute disgrace. The Revival have shown themselves to have great chemistry together, to be funny, and to work a good match against anybody. Theyre like a combination of a good Southern American throwback in the 80's yet keeping up with the modern advances in wrestling at the same time. ROH (and I expect AEW will) clocked on with NJPW that tag team and six man tag team matches are a great way in keeping a whole host of talent happy because they're performing. There is money in it as the right combinations can play off each other very well (Bullet Club, New Day, Young Bucks, LAX etc). Yet because its not "instant money" WWE continually discard it. Kofi Kingston is there popular Champion yet they still discard it. Its baffling when the roster is so bloated.
