I started a TEFL course again @nudge Hopefully this time I'll actually complete it
  2. My guess is because Melbourne is in lockdown.
  3. Completely agreed. I wear my masks when I go indoors or anywhere that it is needed to be worn, but I also live in a suburban area and I usually don't go close to anyone either when going for walks.
  4. Not yet, might be worth it. I'm not sure yet. Well Cicero's wife had it in December according to him.
  5. So do any of you believe you may have had COVID? Besides Cicero, Leicester Dan and Arsenal Dan that is. Whether you felt symptoms or not. I WANT to believe I had it and was asymptomatic. My cousin's boyfriend spent Christmas with us when he was very sick and no one knew or even thought it could have been COVID. He was feeling the same symptoms. There were also 2 people with the virus in front of us on the humanitarian flight back to Canada. No confirmation from my side though, I am hoping I had it so that if this does prove to create immunity I wouldn't have to worry anymore. You never know though.
  6. Wow. Gabriel Barbosa humiliates his marker and passes into open space for Flamengo's 2nd. I didn't see who he beat, but RIP his ankles.
  7. Evanilsson scores a very nice tap in. Timed his run perfectly and now it's 1-1.
  8. Rafinha has such a bad stylist. He looks like a disco artist from the 1970's with that hair and shorts always up high. He's apparently also not a very nice person either so I hear.
  9. That was a very nice team goal from Flamengo. Fluminense up against it now I think. The away goal for Flamengo was the last thing they needed.
  10. Carioca final time, between Fluminense and Flamengo. Vamo' Fluzao!
  11. I don't think anything will end racism. There will always be a couple idiots who don't understand. However, just taking a knee for 8 minutes will have no affect on those people. It's a nice sign of solidarity but it really wouldn't have any impact on "ending racism" itself. I'm not talking about going to extreme heights like removing commentators or shows on Netflix, but setting an example that won't *really* affect anyone, as the game will still be played. Anyways, I agree that arresting the kid was another good solution.
  12. I meant regarding the sport. I did see the kid was arrested. However, I think Smiley has a point. Postponing the game could have set an example. Not that racism can be eradicated, but you can try your best efforts.
  13. Charles Barkley said something similar. Lots of solidarity but no action actually taken.

Fair enough, but again I wasn't insulting him, or even criticizing him directly. I was just strongly against his move to Mexico's 2nd tier and it seemed to piss him off. Maybe I was using strong words with "attack" but he was pissed and went off at me in a DM.

Well that’s called maintaining a good image. They can have an opinion but millions of people watch the sport and if you’re going to play, you have to expect to be criticized. I was just very direct. It’s not like i was insulting him or anything.

A footballer should not respond to critics though, it’s unprofessional. I didn’t even directly message him. I actually had completely forgotten he even had Twitter. And yeah could be financial problems or the owners just being stubborn. Either is common in the lower or weaker Latinamerican leagues.

Have any of you ever been attacked by a footballer on Twitter? A few months ago I received a PM from Alejandro Duarte, who was the keeper at Zacatepec at the time. I had strong opinions about how the Ascenso MX was almost amateur and that there's a lot of problems and a good reason Mexicans don't make the jump to the Liga MX from the 2nd tier. He sent me a 15 paragraph essay about how I'm wrong and he doesn't care about my opinion (he clearly did) and invited me to a game in Mexico if I had the chance. Today, there is news that he is reporting his team for "not paying him in months". I could tell him I told him so, but I'm not going to be the cause for more problems...
  18. Pacheco's penalty was cold. So, so cold. Congrats to him! Fluminense win the Taca Rio on penalties against Flamengo.
  19. Never said that (not recently anyways, my opinion's changed)
  20. Brazil's 1M+ cases and the lack of response/leadership from him speak otherwise...
  21. Expect Peru's cases to skyrocket in the next few days. The lockdown was lifted last week and now I'm seeing Instagram videos of people partying in night clubs and whatnot. Idiots. I think easing restrictions was necessary, not lifting the lockdown outright.
