When Taliban came in power last time they also showed the same sentiments. Which makes it clear that despite commies or Islamists both groups are ethnic nationalists at core. Really a difficult situation. If you try to mend ways with them relations with Northern alliance will deteriorate, like it did happen once. Same outcome other way around.
