  1. Antifa are the real fascists though, mate. It even has it in the name.
  2. Yeah I do, Harris was monstrously more popular when Biden announced he was out
  3. Of course, she is a woman, black, foreign, and she sucks, sucks less Donnie Dumper but the other factors are a huge hurdle to jump over and have people see past. Harris had nothing going for her, all Trump had to do was turn on the used-car salesman dementia routine and say a few sound bites. If Biden pulled out two weeks ago Harris would have crushed Trump because she had zero time to campaign, so zero time to fuck it up. The last fifty years the Republicans have done a far better job propagandising their constituents (think Lee Atwater and the southern strategy) and Democrats just alienate them by being incompetent Republican-lite.
  4. That’s the UK. You cannot compare the two, the UK legit had a decent left policy that lost, they USA has never had that in a presidential election and the closet it came aaa purely because of those policies and ‘being socialist’. It doesn’t matter if she alienated 5,000,000 people in Texas on Israel policies what matters is winning the swing states. She lost Michigan because of this and Michigan is democratic leaning state to begin with. As I said earlier 20,000 Muslim votes on Michigan is worth more than a million in Alabama. This isn’t a popular election, we’ve seen the popular vote lose many times.
  5. I wonder how many abstained or voted for Jill Stein. Dems lost by 100,000 and Stein did get a decent turnout…
  6. They label them communist regardless, Trump consistently called Harris a Marxist this campaign, so policy has literally nothing to do with that. The Cold War ensured that cultural quirk. Sanders changed the Overton window for a lot of people in 2016, no candidate had ever sparked such interest and popularity with his policies , that was life changing campaign for a lot of people. This was nearly a purely grassroots campaign so it does show a massive appetite that Americans can have for positive policy making, just not enough to break the institutions set up, but it was closer than it had ever been. Narrowly lost out on the nomination to Clinton, that’s the closest the Democrats have had on moving towards the left, they literally never have done so in a presidential election. Harris came in on a milquetoast policy agenda echoing a weak knee republican platform from the 2000s and lost. Redlining, gerrymandering, corporate interests causes these elections to have the results they do. People vote against their interests not because they are inherently conservative but because they are told to be conservative by figures and institutions they trust, they prey on their fear and insecurity. Some votes are worth more than others, that’s just a fact.
  7. That’s exactly what happened though. Harris visited Dearborn and said the pro-Israel party lines which lead to the crowd reacting incredibly negatively. Michigan swung red and just barely, like 100,000 votes https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/us-dearborn-trump-gaza-war-elections
  8. nah, haven't hit west coast yet
  9. Oh mate, you are in for the shock of a lifetime if you think NAs aren’t as or more conservative or religious than Suda Americanos. Lula is more left than nearly every American haha
  10. And that's exactly how the Democrats are able to be awful, they only have to be 'less shit' than possibly the worst president of all time (maybe fifth), they just have to be a little less fascisty than Project 2025. The ratchet effect is real and the Democrats have no incentive from the Republicans to shift towards the left, and their voting constituency gives them no reason to have to enact any actual policies that help people because they put no pressure on the Democrats to actually do anything outside of 'not be Republican'. It's not a stubbed toe vs chopped off, it's a chopped off and bleeding out now, vs chopped off but the toe is being staunched so you bleed out over a few days. It's just delaying this shit by a few years and people let it happen because they are scared if they demand more from the Democrats the Republicans will sweep in. Democrats still support Israel They still build a border wall They still mistreat immigrants and put kids in cages They let Roe v Wade die under their presidency They still constantly stack their senates with conservative voters that will knock down legislation they promise to They still bail out mega corps instead of helping people They don't address education, they don't address medical health, they don't address the income inequality gap, they don't protect women or minorities, what do the Democrats do beside run on Republican politics from two election cycles prior? Trump is truly awful and I don't him to win at all, but damage control isn't democratic, and the Democrats are truly awful.
  11. Hope every republican, democrat, and billionaire dies suddenly and the USA gets a good person.

  15. It is quite strange how good their international coverage is. Also strange at how left leaning its reporting can be. I suppose it’s all to make Qatar look smart?

  18. Also I’m not sure if westerners really are sensitive to Jewish bigotry? I think it’s still a massive issue and something only recently changing. I mean westerners can’t even make amends with minorities that have been in their society like LBTQ and ethnic minorities. its kinda like how westerners gloat about gay rights and women’s rights, acting like the problem is solved and looking down on other cultures, despite it being a recent development and a work in progress. I think it’s a massive ask to westerners to be sensitive to Islam when they aren’t even fully accepting of their own western fellows.
  19. You aren’t wrong that it is an unfair usage of those words and often used as a dog whistle, you are completely right about that, but I don’t think terrorist is an equable situation to globalist. However I would agree that the usage of Islamist is comparable to globalist, that being a specific word that sounds technical but only used to be be pejorative, and often incorrectly. On the same token many westerners in this thread have also defended the people of Islam in this thread so not everyone is subject to black and white.
  20. 1. We weren’t talking about terrorist/terroism. I still don’t know why you brought it up. 2. they are French words dating to the revolution, ‘reign of terror’. So they aren’t new. Sadly the words are associated with Islam but also strongly associated with Ireland and Communists, or freedom fighters like the Tamil Tigers. 3. globalist was a word literally coined to be racist dog whistle, there is no ‘loose application’, it just is a racist word. If you use it in place or combination with ‘globalism’ you’re either mistaken to the delineation or a weirdo conspiracy guy. 4. I don’t care what the general perception is, because we aren’t talking about the general perception and that general perception isn’t a correct definition, we are talking about some dickhead on Twitter that claims to be a geopolitics analyst despite having no grasp of the thing he professes to be. Definitions are important in this discourse. 5. mass shooters are usually not labeled terrorists because they are often not politically motivated. But when they are, they are labeled as such like the Pittsburgh Shooting, Orlando Night Club, or the Texas Walmart shooting. I don’t know why are you having a meltdown about terrorist/terrorism to defend some guy on Twitter.
  21. No. He didn’t say globalism, and if he had his post would be even more ridiculous. Globalism =/ globalist. The former is a the antithesis of nationalism, the latter is a term coined by Alex Jones to complain about Jews.
  22. What a ridiculous tweet that makes no sense. Anyone that uses the term 'globalist' is someone to ignore; especially if they are unaware of the dog whistle it is in the alt-right. What he just said is 'The fucken international Jews are behind this' I’ll chalk it up to ESL and not knowing the connotations.

  24. So you’re okay with them in SA but not their homes?
