  1. Really a shame watching Baumann flounder. I remember watching him play and admiring his presence on the pitch. Now his legacy is being tarnished by the failures in management.
  2. Any of those leaving out of contract or just likely to be sold? Don't think Pavlenka will have a hard time finding a new club. I'm always torn between keeping good players for a promotion push but then I remember these same got you relegated!
  3. I thought he just joined NY Red Bulls in MLS a few months ago. Is he gone already?
  4. For the fans in the US, ESPN has just announced broadcasting rights for La Liga Primera and Segunda for the next several years. Every Primera league match will be shown on ESPN+. Great news for those of us who could give a fuck less about watching Barcelona and the Madrids every week. Starts in August 2021.
  5. I get your point, but the same could be said for the Bremen team. If he couldn't turn around Hertha (with loads of top dollar players) then I'm not sure he could turn around Bremen either. They're both equally in the scheiße at the moment.
  6. What's the obsession with Labbadia? He was awful at Hertha. Just curious.
  7. Rumor that Sarri will take over at Roma at the end of the season. Their European chances are slim right now.
  8. I listened to a podcast this morning that discussed Kohfeldt and the general consensus was that he's been let down by the players and by Frank Baumann. I think defensively they've had a few bad games but you're going to concede goals when you concede possession and try to defend for 90 minutes. A coach can only do so much with the players he's been given and as I mentioned earlier in the thread above there doesn't seem to be any real attacking class in this squad. There are a lot of players who work hard on the pitch but there isn't enough footballing quality there. Who do you give the ball to when you need to make something happen? I don't think you can blame Kohfeldt for that at all.
  9. I hate to say it but Bremen look like Schalke right now. Inept on the pitch, no new ideas, and no real impact players that can turn the game. After watching Koeln on Friday and seeing them playing much better it's becoming a serious worry.
  10. Watching that game last night against Mainz, it's hard to see where Bremen are going to get the goals to pull away from the relegation zone. I'm not saying they'll go down... I still think Hertha and Koeln are inept enough to be favorites. When Bremen brought on Selke for Fullkrug I just rolled my eyes. It's not like there were any other options, but wow. I've watched a lot of Bremen matches this season and Selke isn't the answer to any question related to scoring goals.
  11. Rostock had some fans at a match a few weeks ago. There may have been others. Was that a regional decision to allow that?
  12. Is this the end of Hansi Flick at Bayern? My gut feeling is he's going to the national team. He seems really unhappy with the recruitment at Bayern and his fallout with Salihamidzic has been public knowledge for months now. Edited to say, I really like Hansi as a coach, and he seems like a nice guy. Doesn't seem to fit in with the arrogance of some past and present Bayern personnel.
  13. Leeds and Bayern...oof. Best look into 1975. One of the biggest reasons I don't like Bayern.
  14. Considering they were battling relegation last season I'd say Kohfeldt has done wonders with the same players. Even with the loss of Klaasen, who was awesome imo. Are there financial issues at Bremen or is the COVID stuff just hindering them like everyone else?
  15. I stand corrected I was thinking of Eggestein.
  16. I've seen Bremen play a few times this season. He's not a left back is he? Thought he played more CM.
  17. https://www.kicker.de/zieht-es-augustinsson-auf-die-insel-4000000036938/transfermeldung Saw this on the Leeds WACCOE message board today. It's a week old.
  18. He wants the Ballon this year. He got screwed last year so he's gone and decided to "up it a notch". It'll be just like the French to cancel the event again.
  19. I don't feel like VAR is the problem... I feel like English referees are the problem. They're either given poor guidance on how to use VAR, or they're complete imbeciles. I watch the Bundesliga primarily (4-5 matches per week) and I honestly can't recall a decision made by a German ref that I thought was questionable. I'm sure there have been some, but nothing like the weekly debate in the EPL. When it's applied correctly it hasn't ruined the game. But drawing lines from kneecaps to armpits is fucking annoying and, in my opinion, not what the game wants or needs.
  20. Back to back solid performances for Freiburg. Got to hope that Schalke are shell-shocked after the Augsburg match and we can hit them cold.
  21. I thought I heard that the sporting director was let go as well. The performance against Gladbach in the 20 minutes or so was good but they fell apart again. Hard to see where they're going to get inspiration from right now to turn this around. They remind me of my hometown club FC Cincinnati. No ideas, can't even comprehend the basics of defending or attacking.
