  1. We are going to be screwed. Our cases are going crazy. My cough is back so I’m taking tomorrow off. I only had 8 out of 24 students rock up today so we just joined classes. I expectt by Friday I’ll have 3-4. Max.
  2. Got informed today schools will not shut in WA, and in the same information, parents have reasonable cause to keep students at home. So which is it? Schools are safe or they’re not?
  3. And it’s all over for now. Our game got postponed tonight but Newcastle hosted City and won 2-1. Empty crowd of course. Season postponed or something now.
  4. See Rando’s answer. Your post is part of the problem. Only 6% of cases in South Korea are kids? Wouldn’t we want to lower that ffs. About the same as 70-79 age group yet we are protecting them.
  5. Yep. Throw in childcare services etc too. I get there would be an impact on those working in the health industry but I don’t get schools being open. Our medical association president wants them closed, but the chief health officer seemingly doesn’t.
  6. I’ve lost all confidence in my country. State and federal government along with their chief health officers are wankers. From midday tomorrow everything is basically shut. Except shops (we do need food).....and schools. But they’re allowing VICTORIA to finish a few days early (on Tuesday). I cant even type the other stuff he has suggested around schools. I just feel worthless.
  7. WA had our biggest jump in cases overnight (24), state total to 90 something. 1000+ in Australia now. I predicted that a couple of days ago on here I think. lots of surgeries have been cancelled or postponed. Children aren’t allowed to visit hospitals now. Let’s keep schools open though.

Very sorry to hear mate. I’m always here for a chat if you need it xxx
  9. I feel ya. We have been told to think/plan for two weeks in case we are shut. I’ll be doing some of that Monday with a colleague during collaboration time. My students are so young but some are making comments about the virus so I am just reassuring them that they’re very likely to be fine and that we continue to practise healthy habits. Washing hands, hand sanitiser, coughing into the elbow and so on. Very uncertain times but student numbers are starting to slowly drop. We are not likely to close. We aren’t taking enough action, I’m calling it now, we will have over 1,000 cases by the end of Sunday. It’s not even flu season. These are dangerous numbers.
  10. How come? I must’ve missed something in this thread.
  11. Reading the Star Wars mafia and glad I didn’t join up because I literally do not understand any of the words. It’s a different language! Haha

Yeah, it's very confusing for a non-connoisseur like you and me as well, just hoping someone will clarifiy, this is your typical townies, mafia, copper etc. xD

I honestly don't know what's going on as well and I'm playing!

  12. At this rate we will be following Spain or Italy numbers. A reminder we are at the end of summer. Yet our trajectory is scary.
  13. 30-39 year olds get it the most. I’ve probably already had it but there is no way I could’ve got tested. That’s the real issue with these “numbers”.
  14. Football cancelled at all levels for 4 weeks (minus A and W league). Great... but I still have to go to school. These fucks are not thinking of the teachers and staff.
  15. I imagine it’ll be back online soon but due to stock and those who need it the most they’ve decided to extend opening hours with the first hour of each day only available to those holding a seniors or health care Card. I predict home delivery and click and collect will be back soon but maybe for certain groups of people etc.
  16. Happening everywhere. My online order got cancelled, so went in today to grab some frozen stuff and what little paracetamol etc I could find because I’ve been forced to. Shelves very empty.
  17. Again, this is for self isolation upon returning to the country. Infection or not.
  18. I must point out this is for self isolating when arriving back into Australia from anywhere. This doesn’t mean you have it. These are the sanctions. Hard to police, I don’t have answers on that. We had a lady be tested last week and while she was waiting for results she went to the theatre. Test came back positive. I’d dob on someone if they broke the self isolation.
  19. Entering the country you must self isolate for 14 days no matter who you are and where you have come from. My mate got back today, his small business and our football club (he runs it) are now in an interesting situation.
