  1. I've been playing a lot of Far Cry 6 and I think any fans of the series should check it out - I think it's possibly the best one.
  2. Tbf that team of 2004-2006 is a team that'll go down in history - it's an actual world class team. They'd probably be for you what the Liverpool sides of the early 80s or the Shankly era are for us - an era that'll probably be used as a measuring stick for other great Chelsea sides to come. I don't think many sides like that ever exist, there's a handful of them around the world at any given moment. Lyon's side of the era you mentioned, while really good... I don't think comes close to that side. Similarly, I think you've got a really good squad that on it's day, and even if that's partially down to the manager (which btw, I doubt we'd be this good without Klopp), can beat pretty much anyone. Maybe that's not "elite" but it's fucking close imo.
  3. I'd consider you up there as well tbh. Might have some issues up front, but on your day I think you can beat any side in Europe.
  4. Idk if the CL is much stronger now than it was then. To get to that final we had to get passed: an absolutely stacked Juve, prime Mourinho with prime financially doped Chelsea, and an AC Milan team that was just absolutely legendary. Nowadays I’d expect English clubs to go far in the CL just because even our relegation battling teams make more money than good sides in Spain, Germany and Italy
  5. Tbf if they want to keep milking glory hunters, they’ve got to show ambition eventually. They’ve done it with their American sports team. They’ve signed probably the best NFL player in history and surrounded him with good players and suddenly enjoyed rapid success. And they’ve spent a lot with you tbh. I know they could have been spending more, but you’ve spent a lot. Biggest difference between you lot & the American NFL side they have is they’ve got a veteran proven good coach at the helm there. Honestly I think Woodward’s just not going to sack Ole as one of the last actions while he’s in charge. I’m sure he’s gone as soon as Woodward’s gone. They literally just need to finish following the blueprint of their NFL side and give a good coach good players (and I think you have good players, you have Cristiano Ronaldo)
  6. I don’t think so - he’s been afforded a huge amount of patience for the amount he’s spent. I don’t think he could get that with the same rate of improvement that he’s shown at United, I think he’s only getting that patience because he’s a United legend. Any club that he’d go to after United, other than City - where I doubt he ends up - won’t have the same resources. And I don’t think he’s record as a manager would fill many clubs with confidence because he’s spent a lot for gradual improvement.
  7. I enjoy good scotch and good whiskey & I also like getting drunk.
  8. Tbh I think he's done more to justify his transfer fee in his time here than Keita did. For a while the Ox was a pretty fantastic player up until the injury he got when we were playing Roma. He's suffered a number of serious long term injuries though and I don't know if he'll ever really come back to being as important as he was earlier on in his Liverpool career. Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot (when he's back from his own shit injury) I think are better fits for the squad. That's why if it were down to me, I'd probably move him on before Keita if we're looking to bring in a new CM in January. I doubt we bring anyone in this January though, unless someone high on Klopp & Edwards' radar becomes available. Keita's had more time in and out of the squad with various injuries of varying degrees of severity. I think we've seen glimpses of how good he can be if he can get a consistent run of games in (and if he can play consistently well)... but he hasn't really played consistently well and he always gets injured before he can get a good run of matches together. At this point, I think Keita fits the squad better... but I think he's far from reliable. And we do need reliable options in the midfield with the number of injury prone midfielders we have is.
  9. They were both pretty expensive tbh. I think long term we should be looking at replacing both of them in the squad... but short term if we can get another midfielder in in January, I think we'd probably let one of the two go.
  10. If I were Michael Edwards, I'd be looking to see if there's anyone willing to take Oxlade-Chamberlain off our hands in January and I'd be hoping to bring in someone decent. Obvious issue there is... January prices are usually pretty bad for the buyer and I don't think we're willing to spend big on anyone unless it's someone that Klopp/Edwards really really want. Sounds like Gini's having a bad time at PSG... maybe we could loan him in short
  11. Our midfield generally has so many injury prone players
  12. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/nov/01/fears-of-brexit-violence-as-armed-men-hijack-and-torch-bus-in-northern-ireland I think these sorts of fears were sort of not really discussed or even realistically considered by a lot of people pushing Brexit... and even by the loudest voices against Brexit. Doesn't look great though.

  14. Apparently Dr. Who is Oakley Cannonier, the ball boy who gave the ball to Trent before that corner taken quickly.
  15. I don’t think anything from the Brighton match indicated a bad attitude from Mane. He played really well. Imo our biggest issue at present is Curtis Jones and Oxlade-Chamberlain in the midfield is really chaotic and I don’t think we can control a midfield with the two of them playing at once. It’s something we’ll have to work on in the training ground until after the international break where we’ll mostly have everyone back (minus the everyone who gets injured our playing internationals) I also think Brighton’s tactics in the second half were brilliant. They set up to counter and often had 3 people breaking against 2 CBs because of how open we are/were. I don’t think we played poorly, but letting control of the midfield go was poor. But Brighton also played really well throughout the 90 minutes. And I think giving up leads to sides you should be beating when the midfield 3 has 2 players that aren’t really the most positionally disciplined and are more players best used for their instinctual ability to attack/support an attack - rather than to control a game. Curtis is still young and learning, I am hopeful he can become a bit more well rounded. With Gini gone and Elliot looking like he’d carved a unique role in the midfield that we likely won’t fill til he’s back… there’s an open spot for a new regular starter in our midfield. And with so many of our midfielders being injury prone as fuck… this is a unique opportunity for Jones to really break through this season. But I think Jones and the Ox are kinda too samey and as good as Henderson is, he’s not quite close to the shield for our defense that Fabinho is. It was a very unbalanced midfield.
  16. I hope she’s better ASAP mate. My pal’s dad was double jabbed and got it (he had it before he got vaccinated too) and for someone who was double jabbed he ended up being a “long hauler” in that he felt constant symptoms since before he tested positive for about 3.5 weeks (a little less, but roughly 3.5 weeks). He says he feels as good as he did before getting sick with it the second time. So for me I think that’s a lot to be hopeful with about your mum. I hope her symptoms are as mild as can be and she’s feeling back to her best as soon as she can.
  17. Not sure what he did wrong against Brighton? If you mean his disallowed goal for handball, I think you should watch a replay of it - that looked about as accidental as they come. The defense and midfield were more to blame for the 2 points lost than the front 3 imo
  18. Today I learned: the country I was born in is directly responsible for the IRI killing off some of my family members. https://portside.org/2020-01-25/how-britain-helped-irans-islamic-regime-destroy-its-left-wing-opposition And after the collapse of the revolution’s first government in the middle of the Iran-Iraq war & purges of the 80s, I think most hope of Iran’s revolutionary ever shifting from the theocracy it ended up with probably died. It’s mental how badly world powers can fuck other countries up over geopolitical struggles, then was their hands of the blame and do things like impose sanctions collectively punishing all Iranians in Iran for a course of events they’ve had a hand in pushing along the way.
