  1. Most home teams get some breaks from the ref, it is the home crowd effect and something about Anfield means they a bit more than most. I heard a lot were disgruntled by length of the injury times. I think Old Trafford is similar and I recall in the terraces at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea got a penalty back in the day the crowd cheered and me and a mate under our breath agreed we were lucky.
  2. I don't know Chuck McGill yet that actor was in one of the more bizarre X-files programs and he was funny too.
  3. Never heard, of him, I know three others that have it too. I was talking with a tech chap several years ago and was saying his son kept getting headaches and he was at a loss with what to do. I said I had problems with wifi and electric fields and asked about them at his home and then the penny dropped, 'Shit his bed is between my two routers'.
  4. When using the PC a lot started get pains in my fingers. I am sensitive to wi-fi and Smart tech etc (childhood head injury) and eventually realised the laser in modern computer mice could give me pain in the fingers. I taped a bit of aluminium foil over the top where the gap is and so far so good.
  5. They didn't hang about, Wout Faes https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62750312
  6. How is the midfield workign out with Eriksen, he seems to be paired with McTomminay who has a decent engine yet are you being overrun?
  7. As a neutral I would like to see Dyche at Leicester to see how he does with better players though of course no guarantee he improves them. Our fans for some time were jealous of your player recruitment in finding unknown gems. We have tried to bring through youngsters ourselves with mixed results. Currently Silva at Fulham is interesting and I see under him Mitrovic is scoring again yet will it last?
  8. @Stan, we have the same issue with players we cannot sell or don't want to go due to their well paid contracts with us. See recently we paid Barkley £7m just to go.
  9. It's a shame heavy rains like this cannot be captured to be spread elsewhere where needed, plenty of places are still in drought. I caught a Simon Reeve documentary yesterday and he was with South American rain forest people. Their land was being illegally logged and like most indigenous groups all think the planet will respond in some unexpected ways. They blamed their white brothers although not so sure in these days it is the West suspect it might be poor Brazillians doing it to meet Chinese demand.
  10. For me Gallagher needs to play in a 3 man midfield we play 2 men. We could go three yet them would require just two attacking forwards not sure why he has not tried this.
  11. No problem with Sterling and Cucurella yet how long will Silva and Koulibally last. Just our luck for them both to break down this season like our full backs did last season and midfield troubles the previous two. As I have an ESP skill think there is a more to the game than just throwing money at players not sure if the Boehly chap gets it. Perhaps better than early Roman looking for his new shiny toys yet how much better. Will be interesting to see if we can increase revenues substantially, I have doubts yet lets give him a chance. If he can't it will be interesting to see how the consortium's attitude changes.
  12. I guess that is me just looking at the top four though part of my comment is about the number of good players that come through at Leicester showing so much promise yet don't deliver for long and just move on.
  13. It would have been interesting last season had we got Haaland for £150m approx how we would have squared that with FFP. The big six do seem to do well though they also have other revenue streams at least in theory to back their expenditure. I also think Leicester have under performed they could not build on that initial league success barring 1 FA Cup, is it down to revenue or poor choice of managers?
  14. Yes in theory ours were meant to cover for Alonso though did not always work out that way and depending on the midfield injuries can be challenging. Notice you looked better with Fabinho coming back.
  15. I actually think in the last 5 seasons barring the Boehly consortium taking over now we have tried to stay within the parameters.
  16. I have heard a couple of times now that TTA is a defensive weakness as he is often caught up field. Now we have had that problem with Marcos Aslonso and though I am not suggesting TTA is as poor as Alonso in recovery runs I do wonder how Klopp will react as the EPL consciously try to take advantage of this revelation.
  17. Also the year of the transfer ban when Frank was in charge. I guess having the ground in the most expensive part of the country for real estate means we have to pay a bit more. A lot of us bemoan the lack of decent scouting and it will be interesting to see if this changes under the new ownership or just continues as is. Under RA he wanted possession based football so we got a number of specialist managers requiring specialist players and with FFP you can only change so many in a window while retaining quality. Saying that TT seems to prefer 3 at the back. I think most CFC fans supporting at least since Mourinho would prefer a 4-3-3. Let me add we have been fortunate to have had a rich owner following on from cup success in the 90's though not plain sailing with players like Shevchenko. Torres and Morata all for different reasons not producing when expected to.
  18. Well two of our first choice centre backs left so instead of strengthening other key areas that needed work had to find alternatives there. Also our left back had a serious injury and so we needed to get a replacement. Since Azpilicueta and Hazard I struggle to recall other bargains we have acquired and normally have to pay over the top.
  19. Think we are lagging in getting in players due to the govt sanctions and Boehly handover meaning we missed targets or were too slow to act. We also had to let players go. Good thing is we are staying in contention as players like Kovacic come back into fitness and will maybe finalise a couple of last minute transfers.
  20. Yep number of stories breaking over Hunter Biden laptop all about media supressing the story due to the damage it might do to his father's campaign and he was also in Ukraine before the Russian invasion just how messy is that! https://alethonews.com/2022/08/27/ex-us-intel-chief-fbi-meddling-with-biden-laptop-storys-circulation-is-election-interference/
  21. Two consecutive wins since Maguire and Ronaldo rested...................
  22. I guess with Ferguson's Utd starting to regress the feeling at Anfield was it was their time to dominate yet Abramovich flew in and hired Mourinho who quickly put together a title challenging side. Add in two managers that despised each other and the melodramatic Mourinho at pitch side and it must have earned loads of advertising revenue for Sky or whoever. During those years though Mourinho also had arguably worse relationship with Wenger and the matches were frantic affairs and sometimes ugly. @Dr. Gonzo would you say Liverpool had a bigger rivalry with Arsenal?
  23. I do recall a Pavard playing for France, and knowing the name makes me think he did something neat like scoring a cracking goal. This might be the same chap.
  24. Careful on the slavery thing, the Ottomans and the Arabs have their unpleasant history too. Lets not forget that Africans being sold as slaves made have saved their lives if they were prisoners of inter tribal conflicts. My brother has a Spanish wife and people of certain skin colours are kept out of the cities by the police and no-one seems to mind.
  25. Osteopaths can be quite useful. The other thing is to eat something sweet relax for 30 mins and see if it eases? If it does it might be related to trying to get too healthy too quickly or changing your diet.
