  1. As much as he has great physical prowess he does look a bit unusual, expect some of the fans to find some mocking taunts to try and put him off his game.
  2. Not too surprised as it has taken us a while to sign new players though disappointing.

Bullying is a tricky thing, often bullies have friends that back them up. I went to a comprehensive in London in the mid 80s, I was also in that year that got split up as they changed the cut-off date for each year so I went from being one of the oldest to one of the youngest in my class. There were a lot of people throwing their weight around and I fought and fought and had to see almost every head of year and the Deputy Head Master. The most serious was an Indian chap bizarre actually as most I met were well adjusted yet he was different. We were in the top class for the year. I knew he and another were messing around with people yet was not sure how badly it was. One day he called to me wanted money or my lunch and I said, 'No'. His face tightened and he squared up his shoulders as though to hit me and so I brought my hands together with fists forward in a boxing stance. I waited smilng. Although a stone heavier and a couple of inches taller he lost his confidence, I think he realised if I stood up to him he might lose his reputation. It didn't end there, the next day he instructed another larger boy to punch me on the arm where we had just had vaccinations. Of course if I agree to give him food or money....... I said to the other boy, 'if you hit me I'll hit you.' He looked back at the bully and then punched me hard on the arm drawing blood to my shirt arm. My hit him once hard in the mouth cutting his lip. After lunch I was sitting and then noticed the bully come in and stand two rows back and with a knife swinging back and forth as though taking aim and then he threw it and I ducked, the knife hit the kid behind me in the back of the head drawing blood. There was shock as the kid in front of me was bleeding from the back of his skull. The bully left the class and several other bigger kids all said with muted anger, 'That's it, he has to go now, he must be expelled.' I was never questioned about that, the Bully was suspended for just two weeks which I thought was strange. I never had any run-ins with him after that until 18 months later and the end of term as I was walking home. He cornered me with his bigger and older brother and persuaded me to sit with them in glade a little way from the road. I was very unsure yet went with it. He admitted throwing the knife at me. I replied, 'Yes I did wonder.' Now his big brother was obviously a better character and said, 'Come on let's go.' It is very difficult to know what advice to give, I've always been lucky like that in getting through things like a cat with nine lives. Not sure why mt text went to the red colour?
  4. I used to work for an American Bank some time ago and we had to do lots of mandatory training. I recall one of those was opening an account for a PEP - a politically exposed person- had to be referred immediately before the account was opened, they were deemed to be high risk. I now start to realise why. About a decade ago the UK Times paper also claimed the biggest problem in British democracy was corporate lobbying. I think this is why civilisations eventually fail, once everyone realises the system is rigged not many want to do the the dangerous or messy jobs any more.
  5. Claims Pelosi has bought a she load of shares ahead of a bill she is supporting to put massive funding into that industry https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/nancy-pelosi-throws-her-support-behind-50-billion-semiconductor-bill-hours-after-disclosing
  6. Had to laugh it was put to IDS who is backing Truss, 'Isn't Truss just Boris in a skirt?' Personally think Mordant would be best to beat Labour next time. Think if it is Sunak or Truss the Oxbridge candidates it will favour Labour. Even with Mordant, if she wins I only see her as a one term candidate before a Labour coalition sweeps in.
  7. I agree Badenoch was the weakest last night. Sunak is a great communicator almost too polished for me and argues well, especially against Liz Truss. Truss was in danger of losing her cool with Sunak over the economy yet did also speak well. Mordaunt was ok, answered the trans question well yet also had a defensive tone at times, see she is getting the most attacks in the press. I missed most of the Tugenhadt speaking due to cooking dinner though noticed him playing to the crowd while someone else was speaking and getting pulled up for it. There is a real split developing economically. Sunak against tax cutting further think the N.I change under Boris will help the poorest though not better earners. Truss is for changing the N.I and corporation taxes. For N.I she argues we don't need to raise this as we can take out a loan to be repaid at a much later date and at lower interest. She thinks by reversing corporation tax back to 19% we will get more corporate investment. Sunak says debt is debt, though we have mortgage debt and short term persona loan debt so am unsure on this, ultimately it is decided by the lenders. There is a precedent repayment of long term debt from the World Wars though could we get those type of loans today? I thought raising corp tax to 25% may have been due to Brexit and foreign corp HQs wanting to move away so only the Brit ones stayed. If so it does not pay to reduce corporation tax. Mordant had a different idea and this was to refund half of VAT costs on fuel arguing that unless we did something soon to combat inflation the party would lose the next election. I like this idea as it would get inflation down somewhat. She would not reverse Boris N.I and Corp tax. I think Mordant reads this correctly, about struggling families needing a hand and she though the VAT would say £10 on a weekly average car at the pump. Then add in the N.I changes for the lower income types. Too early to judge who is the winner yet Truss and Sunak both being Oxbridge graduates certainly have an ideological split economically they will go toe to toe on. Truss also likes nuclear energy ........ not me, heard on the grape-vine something happened in France. No details on mainstream sources yet allegedly a reactor had to be turned off. Reminds me of the Dutch farmer protests, no coverage in the UK.
  8. Is Koulibaly confirmed as nothing on BBC sports?
  9. The reporter on this is Indian and thinks this is the end game for the EU. I don't agree though may cause a problem with the Netherlands at least. On another link one Netherlands MP said what made this worse was that council officials were pointing to farms saying when that ones goes we can build hotel accomodation for illegal asylum seekers. Now if that view goes mainstream I would expect the government to fall. https://www.brighteon.com/6072b5b6-267e-46cd-a093-d0c2b992b444
  10. Mordant was in 2nd place up to last night, now being attacked over her trans views, her brother is an activist for LGBT. If she handles this she could win if she does not it will likley be a run-off between Truss and Sunak.
  11. Sunak has the most Mps backing by some margin. Mordaunt is second. Mordaunt is the most popular among Tory members. Gove is not running but has backed Femi Badenhoch and she is behind Mordaunt on nomination though not too far behind.
  12. @Bluewolf Haha you forgot the Irish. When the Romans left Irish tribes invaded Wales and Scotland, somehow they have gotten away with that one.
  13. Didn't know that though do recall some news like this I thought got settled perhaps though another case.
  14. Protests growing in Europe over farming, started with the Netherlands and seems to be targeted at a supra-national group named as the World Economic forum under the umbrella of the EU. https://andmagazine.substack.com/p/the-fire-burning-in-holland-begins
  15. If the Tories win the next election I see Labour turning to Blair and the renaissance of the Blairites.
  16. Still time for others to enter the fray I would guess though it would need to happen today.

Born in Jo'burg South Africa to British parents who later moved to NZ when he was 3, then age 16 he moves to the UK. His parents were Welsh and Scottish so think in his case it it more complicated. Yet though late 20th Century history we have had former East European stars moving to the US like Martina Navratilova. It is complicated though for me Norrie has a strong claim to play for a British team because of his parents alone.

Djokovic was very special today, and after breaking Kyrgios in that second set somehow ground out the rest of the match. Don't think he will win much going forward due to the strictness of the vaccination status though maybe another Wimbledon. As for Kyrgios absolutely emotional nutcase and actually reminds me of a younger McEnroe who also swore and broke his racket in a tantrum at times.
  19. BBC claiming that neither Reuben Loftus-Cheek or Kante will go to the US over therr vaccination status so not only Palace has this issue. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62106151
  20. The first run-off vote is expected to be Wednesday so suggests nominees will need to be in place by Tuesday. What happens is some run knowing they won't win yet will offer to stand down on the promise of high office should the person that gets their support win.
  21. I read the other day inflation runnng at 70% in Turkey and 68% in Argentina.
  22. Would no be surprised if this kicks off a political change movement there, they are the most congested country in Europe and did vote against that treaty of Maastrich before being made ot vote again. Their agricultural sector is a big earner for the country too.
  23. People will put their names forward and need eight other recommendations from Tory MPs. Then some will drop out and support will move to the others and finally a run-off vote. The final vote goes to the party members. The winner will be asked to form a government. Now the next election is about a year away so they need to vote someone who has a reasonable chance of winning and has a program that sells well on the doorstep or risk electoral defeat.
