  1. I also see more trouble ahead as due to polarising of attitudes and epxect a state verses Fed issue to bring it to boiling point.
  2. An insider today placed a caveat over Gove ruling himself out. I recall after Cameron walked Andrea Leadsome came forward and after Tory Party discussions they went with Theresa May with Leadsome getting a government position. Now we have externally caused inflation, unhappy unions, large debt (made much worse by Cov-id) and debt based interest payments, Ukraine situation and N.I political paralysis and the SNP have decided they want another referendum. I don't think the competition for party leader will go so smoothly this time as ideologically there are different factions. I would be amazed if Johnson still goes to PMQs as that would be a distraction. Game of thrones strikes again.
  3. Have to laugh after Boris survived the Partygate episode commentator Andrew Neill said the Tory plotters had failed, they could not nail him and there were no forseeable chances to try again. Well that has happened and heard today the BBC claimed to have found the detail on Pincher, interesting they should claim that as there was government talk of reducing their budget. I was told by an old history teacher that if a leader annoys enough people they eventually gang up and bring down the leader. Personally think Gove will come through even though not one of the current front runners.
  4. Let's also hope he gets a decent pay rise.
  5. I reckon Gove will eventually head the government, Sunak is too ambitious too soon and Truss has a nice smile.
  6. I have IBS, caffeine drinks help things like peppermint or ginger tea do not.
  7. This could be very important for the future elections of the US, Moore vs Harper to be heard very soon. If I read correctly it will limit state laws on elections and mean all have to follow one policy. https://beckernews.com/the-u-s-supreme-court-is-taking-up-a-major-case-on-election-integrity-and-democrats-are-already-panicking-45675/
  8. Would be interesting to know the sums as some of these companies make an art of paying very little tax.
  9. Interesting article from Guardian about the number of US citizens that are open to take up arms against the govt. Of course talking is different from actually doing it yet it is the Guardian. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/jun/30/poll-americans-guns-against-government
  10. Not really, Spain has two ports on the African mainland. When Tony Blair raised the prospect of joint sovereignty of Gibraltar with Spain, 200 Moroccan troops suddenly landed on one of these ports, Ceuta if I recall properly. Spain protested yet the message was clear just as Spain wants Britain out of Gibraltar so the Moroccan wants Spain off their land.
  11. Curious on that, I would expect to get a gun you need to know which criminal to approach.
  12. You would hope they had cameras. If they need bouncers surely they need cameras too.
  13. I've often wondered if they would split into two factions, the globalist democrats with open borders versus the republicans with creating jobs in america and controlling imports and movement of people. Historically countries could go to war to gloss over internal divisions using a smokescreen and force conscription though the US having guns makes that just more difficult to impose.
  14. Its pretty clear to me Republicans get money from business to run election campaigns yet what about the Democrats as they don't have big unions to rely on like in the UK. I also remember Clinton took out a Colombian war lord, just one and there was a story I read some time later that was shocking though maybe telling.

It will be interesting to see how far Isner can go, yesterday he looked good,
  16. I agree I keep reading UKE troops are getting surrounded and having to surrender and that most are in retreat.
  17. A very clever political player.
  18. Concerning sitrep map from Ukraine, Russia after taking Sverodonetsk is not close to cutting off Ukraininan forces and taking more towns and industrial plants.
  19. He has sufficient time to turn it around and would not surprise me if he did. Where I live a lot of crime has dropped since Boris got in and that will play well with many.
  20. There are always two arguments one is Russia as the aggressor and violent bully the other is of the 2014 coup with Biden's son Hunter having business interests in Ukraine and Russian minorities being violently attacked. . The alternative US media a year before the election said a Biden victory meant a potential war with Russia. Russia since 2014 knew they had to prepare for war or sanctions and have done so, a number of BRIC nations see the US as an economic bully with a big stick and others like cheap fuel. Wouldn't be surprised if the US military end up brokering a ceasefire over Biden's head which would be a first for a sitting president.
  21. I don't disagree with the defence. Midfield think Rice and Henderson. Think Philips is always a card risk. Kane, Sterling and Mount upfront as these are direct, With Foden, Grealish and Saka if plan A does not work. If playing a back four then the choice of any of the last line or more in midfiled like Philips or Bellingham depending on the opposition. Southgate needs to make subs on 70 mins if it is not working not 75mins.
  22. Israel has been planning test runs of bombing Iranian nuclear sites and Iran has confirmed enriching 60% enough fuel sufficient to make a bomb. Now Israel bombed Iraq's nuclear developmment in 1981 though don't think this will be so easy even with new US high altitude bombers. If this becomes hot Ukraine will slip into yesterdays news........... and if the gulf becomes a battlefield with all those oil exporters in the firing line fuel prices will rocket.
  23. I think a lot of the white working class feel that they have been ignored and see probably asylum seekers getting accommodation when there kids can't get council homes as unfair. It is not just about immigration though it is also the recent progressive aspect being pushed with the LGBT agenda with most being comfortable with some yet not all categories and then the push for choosing your sexuality and how you want to be addressed? For many this is off the wall and outlandish. The other thing these days is not so much the blue collar working class yet white collar working class with the 6 monthly diversity, ethics and other courses that are mandatory which they have to take. They feel it is a major overkill I know from my own contacts it runs through banking, insurance and college jobs and I expect many more. It feels like brainwashing as there is no debate you are just presented with the way to think. Winston Smith might not approve.
  24. Don't think it is easy, I like Cucurella if Chilwell does not recover and we need cover. We are not the only ones interested however and could lose out. One of them might not want to be on the bench too. Defensive midfield - I think Rice would be our best option though thinking is TT will go to Europe because of cost. Centre Back - not sure, Skrinjar has been mentioned and is country captain and we need some leadership assuming he can play well enough in the EPL. Forwards - With Lukaku presumably going not sure Havertz or Broja is enough. Havertz can play well though at times looks like he has something like Malaria. Broja not sure how he fits in the team, pre-season should help clarify. Broja has talents it is how he can integrate with the rest of the team, not sure he can lead the team more a no.10 for me. Would be ideal if we could have perhaps an older striker that could hold the ball and also score to give Havertz cover and competition. Sterling would be an upgrade on Werner and Pulisic and we need one. I did think about Bowen though after seeing him for England have changed my mind, too slow and too slow to see the pass in the middle.
  25. Good to see Liverpool will not pay excessively and it will be interesting to both see how Salah goes next season also how Mane does in Germany. Not convinced Sterling is great for us as he is not clinical yet better than anything we currently have.
