  1. It's alright, we recalled Rhys Williams from his loan last week...

    Cracker this Beterbiev/Yarde fight
  3. You'd have been one of the first to be fuming if Liverpool hadn't extended those contracts. I'm sure you were saying the Salah contract was an easy one to do when it was dragging out a bit. And surely one of the reasons we've been able to sign certain players who have been key to success is partly down to agents fees? I don't necessarily disagree that the loans could have been paid off differently but once the ground is done it should free up more funds for transfers etc.

I thought Smith would win but didn't expect a stoppage and certainly not that early. I think it was yeah. Implying that if he was gay there was something wrong with it. And let's say if Eubank was, he's tried to out him publicly. Eubank didn't cover himself in glory with his comments about Smith's private life and the city of Liverpool either though.

I agree. Always liked Smith but let himself down massively with that.

I think Eubank Jr can put the GGG talk to bed now
  7. They were inexpensive stop gaps. If Liverpool are spending a decent amount of money on a player they can't really afford for it to go wrong
  8. I'd rather us not sign stop gaps on a permanent basis myself.
  9. How many clubs fix all their issues in one window? No one is saying they've not made mistakes in the transfer market. I simply try to understand the decisions they take given they can't afford any expensive mistakes like some others they're up against can. Get one wrong and they can't go and throw another £50m at it like some others. I still don't get the FSG thing. Do you think they're withholding money from Klopp? Check the financials, they're most definitely not.
  10. I'd argue their strategy has been successful. I wouldn't have wanted them to settle for someone else if it was Konate who they really wanted. And I'd take a season such as 20/21 if it's followed by something similar to what we experienced last season. I've no idea if Nunes is someone Liverpool like, I didn't bring him up originally. Maybe they're doing it just to piss people like you off? Or maybe there are genuine reasons, such as the need to offload others, who will be on big wages, before anyone else comes in and waiting for the player they want to become available. It's just not true that they only make one major signing a year. Gapko and Nunez this year, Konate and Diaz last. Thiago and Jota before that. We've got the self sustainable club the majority of us wanted when £30m a year was going to pay Hicks and Gillett's debts. It's unfortunate that this period has coincided with coming up against a brilliant side who raised the bar in terms of what is needed to win the league with their bottomless pit of money and fake sponsorships. Unless you want Liverpool to go down that route, what can you do?
  11. They've not bought him for the sake of it though. It was clearly a Diaz type scenario where Liverpool have wanted him and there was interest in him from other clubs so Liverpool have decided to move before he ends up elsewhere. The injuries to the forward line will have also impacted the decision to do it this month. Liverpool currently have about 9 players who can play in midfield. Yes we all know the arguments about the qualities, or lack of, of certain individuals but there's a few of them out of contract in the summer. Needing to move some of them on, coupled with the player they want not being available in January is probably why we won't see a midfielder arriving this month.
  12. I've not mentioned any names. If Nunes is one of the ones they want then sound.
  13. He's probably sick of being asked the same question every time he sits in front of the press. They went for Gapko presumably because of the price and he was easily obtainable in January. That probably isn't the case for the midfielder they want. They also had three forwards out injured with no idea when they will be available.
  14. I'm as frustrated as anyone with how this season has panned out but people need to stop pretending that Liverpool don't spend. 5th highest spenders in the league since Klopp took over and one of the highest wage bills. A season of transition has been made more difficult with the injuries. We all know the midfield needs reinforcements but I'm happy to work on the assumption that they're waiting for the ones at the very top of their list to become available. I mean Klopp's been here fucking ages now and repeats that on an almost weekly basis during transfer windows but we still have people saying it's because those above him don't want to spend the money.
  15. I like him. The injuries have halted his progression but hopefully he can put them behind him now and be available a lot more often.
  16. There wasn't many good moments during that pandemic season but Alisson's header is right up there with my favourite Liverpool moments ever outside of trophy wins.
  17. They're all equal cunts. The thing that worries me with Johnson is he's loved by the ones who voted brexit, doesn't matter what he did
  18. It's going to be that cunt Johnson again isn't it?
