  1. These things can take months. I'm sure there was talk of a new contract for Van Dijk long before he eventually signed it in August.
  2. I do think that Salah is one of those players that can be at a similar level in 3 or 4 years time, so it is important to get this done. Couple that with what it will cost to replace him.
  3. I'm not sure anyone who is considered reliable has put a figure on it but £400k has been mentioned by others. I largely agree though that it's not that simple. I completely understand why some are worried about it but they should also understand that it's not a deal that is done overnight. I'll only be worried if nothing is agreed come the end of the season.
  4. Yeah a tough watch in a lot of parts. But that's good to hear that it gave you a better understanding.
  5. I think Thiago has a reputation of being a bit of a crock but he did make 40 or more appearances in four of his final five seasons with Bayern. Not sure how many of those are starts.
  6. If people think this was deliberate, what was the benefit of Liverpool getting the Arsenal game postponed ? They've given up home advantage in the second leg. Out of the three that missed Chelsea through Covid, there's probably only Firmino that will be involved in the semi final.
  7. Someone make this Labour amendment make sense
  8. Surely these points in that article should mean Chester are right to carry on as they were? Land registry records confirm that the whole site is within the administrative area of Cheshire West & Chester Council The land of this now fan-owned club owned by Cheshire West and Chester Council Games are policed by Cheshire Constabulary
  9. Sorry to hear that mate.
  10. Salah and Mane will still be away for both legs
  11. I must have missed your 7 paragraph posts when other teams were getting games postponed. Soz.
  12. Assuming this is because they'll have to play Sunday?
  13. But wouldn't have happened to any semi finalist last season.
  14. Also last season: EFL Cup laws state that the rule forcing clubs to withdraw from the competition if they cannot fulfil a fixture was only in place until the fourth round. That means the semi-final will likely be rearranged, rather than United being handed a bye. 'But Liverpool...'
  15. The rules clearly mention it must be rearranged by the following round. The next round doesn't take place until 27th February! Nothing to do with who Liverpool are. They're the rules that were already set out.
  16. The rules have been posted in this thread. They're very simple to understand. Leyton Orient couldn't fulfill it because there was only a week between the rounds.
  17. That the Football League had no plan for Liverpool winning two games in its cup competition was ridiculous.
  18. If the training ground ends up closing, which seems possible given they stopped training yesterday, then Liverpool won't be able to field anyone. The first team, under 23s and Academy all train at the same place. Funny how it's only such an issue now Liverpool have dared to ask for a game to be postponed though.
