  1. You read anything else by him? I loved Nana and Thérèse Raquin.
  2. Saw it a while ago but this compilation of Marcel Desailly laughing is hilarious.
  3. I heard about this yesterday and I was a bit baffled. Last I heard he was managing in Azerbaijan. Strange decision by Granada. I'm not sure an inexperienced Englishman is the right choice to get you out of a relegation scrap.

I didn't post it in this thread but yesterday I had a fiver on Nice, Brighton and Werder Bremen to win, would've returned £140. The first two won, Bremen drew 2-2 after going 2-0 up. That couldn't happen to me two days in a row, right? Monaco have won, Chelsea are 2-0 up...

Tenner on Monaco (0-0 at half time) and Chelsea returns £30.

I have Chelsea, Utd, Leicester and Southampton. Not looking likely. Seven added minutes at Stamford Bridge though.
  7. I've pretty much given up on Luc Besson. Léon is my all time favourite film, I liked The Fifth Element and his early French films, but recently he's been trying to make these massive, unoriginal, sci-fi blockbusters, and he seems to have lost his character. He should go back to his roots and make French films again instead of trying to be relevant in America.
  8. Anyone seen the french film Divines? I highly recommend it, I watched it today and it was brilliant. Up there with Intouchables as one of the best French films of the last few years. Divines - 9/10 Jeune et Jolie - 8/10 La Promesse - 8/10 Respire - 8/10 (directed by the multi-talented Mélanie Laurent (), a very good film about toxic relationships) Moonlight - 9/10 (great film, deserved the oscar) Oh and @Tsubasa have you seen Toni Erdmann? It's meant to be very good and I was gonna see it at the cinema but didn't get around to it.

Be glad she didn't lick your eyeball, I hear that's a thing in Japan.
  10. Is the possibility of bumping into Bono supposed to be a positive? I'll probably be visiting Ireland some time this year. My friends are about to move over there to a little town near Waterford. Easyjet don't fly to Ireland so this is the year I'll finally be forced to use Ryanair. Hopefully it's not as bad as I've heard. Can't really go too wrong for £12 Bristol to Dublin though.
  11. I've recently read Bonjour Tristesse by Françoise Sagan and The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery. Enjoyed them both but preferred the latter. Don't know what I'm gonna read next. Maybe Death in Venice of The Time Machine.
  12. I tend to rate my films in batches. My last batch of ratings on TFF was in November, so this is 3-4 months worth of films Le beau mariage - 7/10 L'Illusioniste - 8/10 Belleville rendez-vous - 8/10 (The above two films are both animated films by Frenchman Steve Chomet. I watched L'Illusioniste because I was about to visit Edinburgh so I wanted to watch a film set there. It was a great film and looked fantastic visually. His other film was just as good.) Paterson - 8/10 Broken Flowers - 7/10 (^both by Jim Jarmusch. Paterson was on at my local independant cinema and had Adam Driver in it so I gave it a go and it was great. I'd never watched a Jarmusch film before so I followed it up with Broken Flowers which was a bit disappointing in comparison) Trainspotting - 8/10 Trainspotting 2 - 9/10 (I watched Trainspotting when I was about 18 and wasn't too impressed. Rewatched it recently in preparation for the sequel and enjoyed it much more. Then watched the sequel at the cinema and preferred it to the original. Maybe it was just the cinema effect?) Easy A - 7/10 Trans-Europ-Express - 7/10 Une Femme Douce - 7/10 Mistress America - 7/10 (It's no Frances Ha) Jackie - 7/10 (Natalie Portman was great but the film was a little disappointing) La Jalousie - 7/10 Citizenfour - 8/10 (very interesting documentary about Edward Snowden) Fantastic Beasts - 8/10 (not quite Harry Potter but a very good film) Le Passé - 8/10 Juste la fin du monde - 8/10 (great performances all around, especially Vincent Cassel) Ex-Machina - 8/10 Lego Movie - 8/10 20th Century Women - 8/10 La La Land - 9/10 Monsieur Lazhar - 9/10 (the best of the lot. It's about how a class of 12 year olds deal with the suicide of their teacher)
  13. We should've got Rabiot when he couldn't get into the PSG team. He's starting now and shining.

Looks like one of Mac's dreams of being cool in It's Always Sunny. Like the ice hockey one.

£25 down for the weekend, yay. At -£15 I told myself that was it for the weekend but the Juve odds were too tempting. Fuck you, Juventus.

    Tips & Bets 365

Tenner on Juventus to beat Udinese (in play - they're currently 1-0 down) returns £32. Surely those odds are far too good?
  17. Finished Bojack Horseman last night. Brilliant show. For a show about a cartoon horse it is very human and very real.
  18. Yeah, at least a 9. Robin Williams was brilliant in it.

Tenner on West Brom to beat Palace returns £22.50.
