Bloody hell. England have made this ridiculously easy for Australia. Getting tempted to hit every short ball is the downside of 'Bazball'. All they had to do, especially after Lyon's injury, is ride the storm and the tempo Australia built from Pope's wicket. But instead they've essentially just took the bait that Australia served up. Just needed to tire the Aus bowlers out as the day ended. If they played a bit more sensibly and not so overtly aggressively, you're probably exceeding Australia's total. Instead it looks like they may go in a fair bit behind.
  8. Don't know. Only ever known them as thunderflies... Edit: having googled it, I definitely mean thunderflies!
  9. The home reminds me of the thunderflies you get in humid conditions. Small little tiny fuckers that just swarm around for a couple of days and they just look like moving lines as opposed to creatures. Yellow/black is very nice. This is also very nice too.

Go for a 3-2 win and an even more culminating and even battle if it goes to a decider for the final test. Would be the best way to advertise the beauty and love of Test cricket. I love Bazball but I also love the tradition of Test cricket being a bit of a slog but once a team gets going, they're hard to break down and the bowlers have to think of something different to get someone out. To be somewhat contrary to that though, I don't think Lords should be a test ground, or not for the Ashes anyway. It's ultimate tradition, I know. But it's just so quiet and dull. Cricket needs atmosphere as much as any other sport. But it's a bit elitist, a bit of pomp and properness. Maybe it's just conflicting with how Test cricket is these days. There was a camera in the Long Room as players came off for rain. All the members were old, red-faced, grey-haired white men who were either asleep because they just can't hack it any more or their first 2 beers went straight to their heads. There's no diversity there at all. It'll never happen because it's Lords. And I get that.

  16. Yeah. So close. 48 goals which is 2 seasons by his standards. But if that is the case, why not sign a new contract and not leave a year on to then make Spurs lose him for free? Unless he had his eyes on another PL move this summer, which could also give him another chance at winning something while he breaks it.

Yeah I went a few years ago pre-COVID to Palma with family. Pretty decent place. Think we went around October, and it was very hot then. Took a bus on one of the days into the centre - the Cathedral and Royal Palace is beautiful to walk around, and then you can walk down the port/along the seafront. Think we stumbled upon some botanical gardens and they were lovely.

We'd been trying for a while, so the missus was fairly anxious about it. So she got up in the middle of the night about 2-3am. Then woke me up in floods of happy tears and said she's pregnant. I think my first reaction was obviously shock, but then I asked her 'is this a dream' . Pure elation for a good few hours after that, struggled to get back to sleep!
  19. Yeah as Dan says. I look forward to seeing how he develops over here!
