Therein lies a lot of the England issues. These players with fairly big reputations aren't delivering (although I did feel sorry for how Buttler got out given he was putting up a decent resistance at the time). They can't only rely on Root forever. Root might as well promote himself to being an opener considering how early he is having to come in every single innings. I thought England would put up way more of a fight, and didn't think it'd be a whitewash. But think I may have to change that now. Can't see England winning a test as they just don't have 4 or 5 solid days play in them. 1 day here or there just won't cut it. The lack of preparation probably doesn't help but even if they did have a couple of warm up games I don't think it'd have changed much.
  2. BitCoin is making its way into the game... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59701285 Somewhat conflicted in this as I don't agree with non-football personnel taking charge and owning football clubs. Doesn't sit right with me and it's a cancer that happens at the elite level, let alone at this very low level of the game. So maybe now it's become unavoidable. But on the other hand, this is my hometown and if someone is trying to increase the reputation of the town, and effectively 'put us on the map' in footballing terms, then who am I to go against that? The new owner says he's 'surrounded himself with football people' to help him run the club, so I just hope for his sake, but more importantly the club's sake, that it's not a wasted venture. It would be interesting to see how things pan out if they do get promoted and come up against the 'bigger' Bedford Town FC.
  3. Spurs, to their probable satisfaction, have been kicked out of Europa Conference League. Rennes awarded a 3-0 victory.
  4. Bit harsh considering he's held some responsibility in bringing the likes of Youri, Castagne, Daka, Justin, Fofana in. Not saying it's all been great as there's been some shockers, but it's not like it's been totally horrid here. Do agree that we're about to enter a huge period of recruitment though - the likes of Vardy, Kasper, Evans, Youri potentially leaving. Those 4 being big characters and leaders in the team expected to leave/end their careers within the next couple of years.
  5. Vaccine scientists are also specifically that because that is their profession. They are highly skilled and research/experiment in that area. The threshold for vaccine approvals is also ridiculously high. It's not like they just concoct a cocktail of chemicals and swing it through wishing for the best. The fact they work for private companies shouldn't be enough to put anyone off getting a vaccine. In fact it's a pretty weak excuse. Don't recall the Bell's Pausy thing. Maybe it wasn't that big a thing to be affected by on a grand scale hence it's also not a wholesale reason to not get the vaccine. That's just conjecture to think professionals in the health industry 'had seen' something. I think it was just the terms of being vaccinated in healthcare so that they could continue to look after those that are suffering, with COVID or not because they work in that environment. You'd rather have staff at your disposal that won't suffer serious illness (or at least less likely to) from a deadly virus, wouldn't you? Matt Le Tissier is a beacon of reason now, is he? What expertise does he have over any of us, or any other Karen off Facebook? I'd rather believe and trust a vaccine scientist who has potentially worked for several years on how to prevent death and severe illness, as opposed to a footballer who's been knocked about and roughed up for several years. The only thing I'd ask Le Tissier for advice on is how to take penalties. Other than that, he can pretty much fuck off when it comes to vaccines or virology.
  6. Didn't think it was that difficult to understand
  7. Yeah see this is the context @Gunnersauraus missed out
  8. Only in the very serious incidents. Did Vallecano not have any physios?
  9. Is that to do with equality? I've seen it in the men's game a few times where the physio from opposition side has helped treat another player.
  10. Is it raining though?

As expected, a humiliating defeat on the cards for England. Not a chance they're batting out the rest of day 5, especially with how much Lyon is getting the ball to turn.. Won't be long before the next collapse you'd think.
  12. He really is something special. I don't buy the 'it's only Bundesliga' dullard argument. On the flip side of that, if it was so easy, why has no one else ever done it? He's clearly quite talented - one thing I love the most is he will score any kind of goal. Get the ball in to him in the box and he's ever so reliable to finish a chance. Van Nistelrooy was famed for being the 'fox in the box' kind of striker when he played for Man Utd. Lewandowski is similar style but far ahead on quality. Never generally understood the argument against someone who literally does the job (extremely well at that) of doing the thing that wins games - scoring goals. If he wasn't scoring, to even a fraction of the rate he is doing so now, he'd no doubt be criticised.

Possibly one of the bowlers for Richardson? It's not helpful that players like Buttler have dropped off a cliff. And that there's not a decent spinner in England's side. 4 steamers (and only Root) is too risky and one dimensional.

I thought they might win one but I agree. Just a desperately weak batting side. Low on confidence and if Root isn't at the crease they've got no chance.
  15. 2!? I'm dreading the next one so can't begin to even imagine how you cope with 2/month! What causes them for you?
  16. The guy put in charge of investigating the Tory Xmas parties last year, HOSTED A PARTY HIMSELF AS WELL. You couldn't make this shit up. Well, actually you could. Because an increasing number of Tories are proving to have no moral compass and are corrupt as fuck.
  17. Good to have you back @Berserker. Big question - vaccine or anti-vax ?
  18. I did similar! I was driving home yesterday and was making sure i could remember specific dates and birthdays and memories
  19. Thanks. That pretty much helped when it happened. Went to bed early, lay down in the dark and both nights since it happened the sleep has been fine. It was a bit worrying - especially the amount of pain that was felt.
  20. Already do. That protects from glare as opposed to anything else. I'm working from home and have done for the past 5/6 years. Thanks - as far as I'm aware (and other people on here may differ) I wasn't dropped as a child or sustained a bad childhood head injury. I don't know what 'going alternative' means.
