Haha literally the same on our local FB group. Some woman went on a rant and started off with that Dusseldorf court case where mask rules in public were enforced but a citizen made a case against it and won. The rumour which then went around FB was that mask-wearing for 2 hours prevents oxygen getting to the brain and causes illness/disease itself and that is what this woman posted about. She quickly got shot down when a few people mentioned that the oxygen stuff was bullshit and there was no record of any such provable claim. I'm 100% happy believing scientists that have researched this and got it through the MHRA for approval and regulation. People then ask why it got through so quickly - logic would dictate they've had a lot of funding and research pumped in to it hence being able to fast-track it . Rather believe that than some randomers spouting off on the internet thinking they know better.

Fantastic news. Hope this doesn't make people complacent especially up to and during Xmas though thinking they can do whatever they want just because a vaccine, for up to 20m people, is now available.. It's not a license for that but it is the most promising sign of beating this virus since it took over. Very well done to all the scientists and researchers and volunteers involved. Hope more vaccines can follow soon.

Yep. 4 home games against Burnley, Villa, West Ham, Fulham. Only 3 points return from them is shocking for where we want to be and break in the top 4/6 regularly as a club. It's just not good enough. It happened last season around this time of year. Dropped points at home to Norwich (and lost away), Southampton, Brighton, Burnley away, Watford away, Bournemouth away (the worst collapse you'll see in a game for a while). Just has to be better, simple as. It renders games like the Man City, Arsenal & Leeds victories pointless. Negates the good work we do when we lose games, especially at home, to sides we should be beating.

Think there was plenty of conversation just about totally different stuff (not VAR officials). Ironically offside decisions, penalty decisions, red cards. There's probably no way to actually evidence whether there was less chat during or post-game. Plenty of contentious decisions were chatted about. What is frustrating VAR was hopefully going to limit the controversies and cause less 'debate' or arguments about it. Definitely not done that!

Because the angles have to be right and sometimes the perspective isn't there from certain angles. Ideally, for the above to work without lines, we'd need the kind of cameras they have at the Olympics in 100m races which moves on a bar to determine, at the end if necessary, who wins a race if it's very close to being level. My point being that you have to have cameras in line with the last line of defence/or above the linesman moving constantly. At the moment we have an aerial angle on most VAR pictures which could show a player to be on/off but bring it down to a level that's actually in line with the players/linesman and it can be a totally different picture.

But we've seen VAR overturn decisions, correctly in my view either for defenders/attackers, that have been incorrectly made by an on-field referee. On top of that, we've seen referees being made to look at monitors when the decision is quite clear to make from the VAR official - this wastes further time. I don't mind offsides being looked at again, but not to the extent they're being looked at now and games being delayed for 2-3 minutes sometimes. If there's even a doubt it should be looked at, then let a VAR official look at it. I don't understand why an on-field referee is told to look at offside decisions on a monitor - he's not going to see anything different from what the VAR official sees, is he?
