What's not to get? He loves Kvyat, and hates everyone who endangers his seat, simple as.

And the ban has been onverturned now.

Lundgaard > Zhou. Anyway, none of them have superlicense at the moment. Both Lundgaard and Zhou need to finish at least 4th in F2 this season; doesn't look good for Zhou at all as he's currently 8th, 32 pts behind the 4th and in a pretty disappointing form recently. Things are looking much better for Lundgaard at the moment, but with 4 races still remaining, it's not yet guaranteed either. Renault might have had doubts about his inexperience and lack of consistency as well. Piastri is eligible now after winning the F3 title, but he's definitely not ready for F1 yet. The rest of their juniors (Fewtrell, David, Collet) are out of the question completely. I'd much rather see a young driver in F1 next season instead of Alonso too, and in my opinion, it would have made sense for Renault to wait until the end of the season and then make their decision - if neither Lundgaard or Zhou managed to get the required superlicense points, they could have gone for Alonso then.

Indeed! Reminded me of typical Saturday night family movie. Millie Bobby Brown did a great job, and I thought Henry Cavill is a fantastic Sherlock Holmes... Do you watch all movies in installments?
-
Me too Yeah, nothing special, but I enjoyed it... Perfect when you just want an easy, lighthearted movie before bed...

Enola Holmes (2020) Quite enjoyed it. A light-hearted, humorous spinoff movie in a Sherlock Holmes universe.

2 to 3 years in normal time or in Elon Time? In all seriousness, it's good to see progress in battery tech. If I'm reading this correctly, then this tabless cell design will not only increase range and be cheaper to produce but will also allow for tighter packaging without separate cooling system, so that's definitely good news.

The Green Hell is back! 24 Hours Nürburgring this weekend... More than 30 teams, over a 100 cars. There have been 3 positive COVID-19 cases in Porsche works team after Le Mans, so all Porsche factory drivers, all employees of Porsche Motorsport and Manthey Racing will not travel to the Nürburgring, that affects 6 cars in 4 teams. Manthey Racing have withdrawn their entry completely as a result Other Porsche teams in the SP9 class managed to replace the drivers and got new lineups. In positive news though, Porsche gets advantage from BoP (-20kg), while Audi (+5kg) and BMW (+10kg) get restrictions. Lamborghini is allowed to make the car 10kg lighter, while where are no changes for Mercedes.

Nice! I see they have Star Wars: Squadrons on pre-order for decent price, so I might as well buy it now too... Will definitely get the Rollercoaster Tycoon tomorrow, loved the original so quite eager to check it out!

Hated that evil bitch, no way I'm watching the show about her

I enjoyed both Anathem and Seveneves, but didn't love them... Think for me Stephenson is a bit hit and miss. From big names in contemporary sci-fi, I think I like John Scalzi the best. Humorous, fast-paced, traditional. Reminds me of Heinlein a bit. The most recent sci fi novel that I read and really adored was A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine. I mentioned it earlier in this thread, a fantastic read.

Yes, Anathem and Seveneves. Why?

How was that Bolognese, @Tommy? I made Flammkuchen today... Think I went overboard with cheese a bit, but other than that, it turned out quite nice.

It felt like a horror B-Movie for 15 minutes there not in a bad sense though, as instead of being scary, it made laugh
-
Just finished watching Episode 1... well, you weren't joking about the monsters Really enjoyed it otherwise, and now I want to know what happens next... It's definitely a weird show though

Ron Cobb has passed away... Known for concept art for movies like Alien, Back to the Future, Star Wars, Dune, Conan the Barbarian, Raiders of the Lost Ark and many many more...

I agree; I said it last year and still believe that in terms of individual quality, our squad is definitely good enough for a mid-table finish. The problem seems to be getting the best out of the players and finding the optimal system to make it work, I think a proper defensive-minded midfielder with strong passing skill is the missing link.

Just a loan.

Don't care about Chelsea, Gladbach or Schalke; nor are these clubs in the same situation anyway. In case of Werder, it's not about judging the manager/squad after 1 matchday, it's about worrying about what seems to be the continuation of last season, and that's what the problem is. It's only natural that the manager is questioned after he was nearly sacked last season due to poor performances, promised huge changes, and then kept on doing the same things that got him and us in trouble in the first place.
-
Nouri in his first stint was good, so I can see why. Nouri in his second stint was bloody awful though and had absolutely no support within the squad. Add to that the power trip he went on, and nah, I'll pass.

Easy, keep Kohfeldt. Under him we at least try to actually play football and the players also like him; the other three still give me nightmares.

I think you meant "dire" Anyway, it's a long story with quite a few nuances. Short version: we always had limited resources and depended on good scouting and smart dealings in the transfer market. Due to domestic achievements and regular participation in CL/UEFA Cup in the early to late 2000s, we generated a healthy stream of income and our financial state was healthy, so we were able to attract decent players and offer them decent salaries. On top of that, during this phase when everything was still was going well, the club decided to expand the stadium. The estimated costs were around 50-60 million, but due to various factors (increased steel prices, etc.) it wasn't feasible and in the end a simple modernisation of the stadium (even without the planned capacity increase) cost us 80 million instead. It was still all fine as long as we were finishing in the top 6; in fact the whole club expenditure was based on a somewhat naive belief that it's going to be the case for years to come. Unfortunately, we were regularly losing our key players to bigger clubs (usually for much too low fees too), the replacements weren't good enough, our performances started to drop, we started missing out on European spots and financial rewards that come with it, all while the squad was still largely made of players with salaries fitting for a club with CL ambitions. So essentially, we brought in players on high salaries who mostly failed to deliver (so we struggled to sell them for profit as well), we hired and then sacked managers each of whom turned out to be worse than the previous one, we failed to reach our sporting goals as a result, so the expenditure kept on growing while the income was decreasing massively. We went from making profit to making huge losses each year, so it was not sustainable and the club went on an extreme saving course. The financial situation got better after a while and we stopped making losses in recent few years, but then corona hit in 2020 and it meant that we lost around 40-50 million last season, which for a club of our stature is a loooooot of money. So now we're back to where we were a few years ago - poor financial state, no sporting achievements, danger of relegation.
