  1. But of course, no fun without the off track drama We'll see. Cosworth and Aston seem to be particularly interested, and those new proposed regs are definitely focused on making the engines cheaper and simpler in order to attract new suppliers. There seems to be enough interest for it from both sides, so I can definitely see that happening.
  2. 4 manufacturers are very interested and consider joining if the new 2021 regs are confirmed (Cosworth, Porsche, Aston Martin and Ilmor).
  3. Ohhhh, some proper F1 drama developing, I'm going to get my popcorn
  4. F1 really needs more independent engine manufacturers to avoid shit like that. Would be interesting to see what happens if Renault withholds the engines though Anyway, why are Renault angry at Torro Roso and blaming them for the PU issues? It's not only Torro Roso who've been experiencing it recently, so the main problem can't be their car?
  5. Williams and FIA people just barely escaped too! Just outside the circuit as well, it's been happening for quite a few years now in Brazil, lack of security really is ridiculous. Hope everyone is well, that's quite an experience...
  6. Probably just wanted some proper raclette.
  7. Ricciardo, Hartley and Gasly are all given 10-place grid penalties for using their 8th MGU-H of the year. Hartley could pick up further penalties as his car was more or less on fire again Big issues with Renault power units recently.
  8. Ernst Hausleitner and Alexander Wurz on ORF1 (Austrian TV) are the best commentator/moderator duo for me, personally. Sky's coverage is ok, I like Mike Surer, not so much Sascha Roos. RTL's coverage is horrible.
  9. Just watched the pilot episode of Damnation, a new series depicting the rising farmer and labor movement against unfettered capitalism during the Great Depression in some small Iowa town. Looks interesting so far, it's definitely inspired by Deadwood a lot. @Viva la FCB you might want to take a look, it's sort of a "pseudo western".
  10. Hamilton earning some sympathy points there!
  11. I dislike Wehrlein ever since I've watched him regularly in DTM; fast driver but such a spoiled brat and cocky af. Seems to have matured a bit though.
  12. Hope it's not Ericsson, would much rather see Giovinazzi there. You and your Kvyat Would love to see Kubica back, but apparently he's not impressed that much in tests so far.
  13. Leclerc to Sauber is also expected to be confirmed soon, so there's only 2 seats left to fill.
  14. Hamilton is employed by Mercedes, just like those 1000 people are. If he was gone and another driver took his place, they would still be employed by Mercedes. In fact, if we're looking at a bigger picture here, then it's probably worth to mention that it's the work of those 1000 people that helps him win races and justify his high employment costs in the first place. Surely a good driver who generates profit for Mercedes, but rambling about "creating jobs" while being questioned about his dubious tax arrangements just sounds like a smug deflection tactics.
  15. Pretty sure that's what all of them do in one way or another, otherwise half of the grid wouldn't be living in tax exile in Monaco or Switzerland or Dubai or whatever. Legitimate tax avoidance schemes are legal, and loopholes are always going to be taken advantage of. However, it's statements like this that make him look like a self-absorbed smug cunt who still thinks he's a gift to humanity: Haha. Give him a knighthood, now...
  16. Ok, so it looks like the "Labbadia or Walpurgis" stuff actually DID come from Bild, so that's a big relief Baumann is currently in Switzerland, new name is thus thrown into the mix - Adi Hütter of Young Boys Bern.
  17. I've just read it in Worum (biggest Werder fans forum). Hope it's not from Bild, haha. At any case, I wouldn't be surprised.
  18. So apparently our only candidates are Labbadia and Walpurgis. It's even worse than I expected Jesus f.... Christ.
  19. What a race in Shanghai! Both Toyotas led in LMP1 class for most of the race, but their #7 car was involved in an incident with one of the leading GTE Pro cars with less than an hour to go, thus allowing Porsche to finish 2nd and 3rd and to clinch both LMP1 Manufacturers title and Drivers' championship for Hartley, Bernhard and Bamber. That's three in a row for Porsche, great way to leave the series as well. Ferrari claimed GT Manufacturers' title already as well, although they were a bit off the pace today and couldn't really compete with Ford and Porsche. LMP2 Manufacturers' and Drivers' titles, GTE-Pro Drivers' title and GTE-Am Team and Drivers' titles will be all decided in the last round of the season in Bahrain in 2 weeks time.
  20. But you see Alan, the management IS the biggest problem and has been for quite a while now. Coach is just a casualty that gets the boot once things go wrong again after a short time of improvement. Poor choice of coaches, poor allocation of resources, poor squad planning. That was my point in the previous post - nothing is going to change significantly with a lasting effect as long as the management doesn't change. Either mentality-wise or personnel-wise.
