  1. Lithuania. First mention of Lithuania in 1009, unified under one Duke in the 13th century, Kingdom of Lithuania founded in 1253. Grand Duchy of Lithuania was the largest country in Europe by the 14th century, then it was transformed into the Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania in 1569, then got partitioned three times by the Russian Empire, Prussia, and the Habsburg Monarchy in the late 18th century. Two unsuccessful uprisings in the mid 19th century, and then finally regained independece in 1918, only to lose it thanks to Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and be occupied first by the Germans and then given to the Soviets after the WWII. Then after ongoing partisan and dissident activities for over 40 years, the first Soviet-occupied state to announce the restitution of independence in 1990.
  2. "Allowed self-determination" Gee, I guess we should be thankful that we were "allowed" to restore our legitimate 980 year old state after 200 years of oppressive yet unsuccessful Russification policies.
  3. They are fine, have been in the sport for quite a while, and therefore have enough experience and proven track record (including WEC class title) in both WEC and ELMS. They are also owned by Gazprom.
  4. Sort of; ot that she would join G-Drive in particular, but that she was in talks with several LMP-2 teams. She even tested with WRT (last season's champions) in the off-season, as well with Prema. What's interesting, that Kvyat will be driving for G-Drive in WEC this season
  5. If you stay, you could be our own frontline reporter though... Imagine the traffic it would bring to the forum!
  6. Lotterer Porsche But otherwise, fuck Formula E
  7. You are definitely onto something. There's a relatively new meteorological theory called "biotic pump" that suggests the same. Basically, cyclonic storms can only form and keep going if there's enough atmospheric water vapour available to sustain it. By importing atmospheric moisture from the ocean, rainforests deplete the vapour available, thus preventing devastating storms. Not to mention that massive rainforests act as an actual protective physical buffer against the storms.

  10. The Villeneuve one from 2016, right? Easily one of my favourite sci-fi movies.
  11. Yeah I found it, cheers. Not my cup of tea though
  12. I googled it hoping it's a series about the Apache (as in Native American tribe). Imagine my disappointment
  13. Huh? First season has three directors, and neither of them has directed Jungle Cruise.
  14. The Amazon series will be set thousands of years before The Hobbit though, so it's pretty refreshing that they are not retelling the same story. I read the books and while I enjoyed it, I still never warmed to LOTR, for some reason. Didn't manage to sit through the movies, either.
  15. This better be good... Premieres on April 24th.
  16. Haha, I knew you'd like it. My father watched it last night and so I caught bits of it too; really well done. Great music, too!
  17. Nope, Emma Kimilainen replaced him. Bottas apparently had Sauber commitments.
  18. Has anyone watched Race of Champions today? Team Norway (Petter and Oliver Solberg) won the ROCNations Cup by beating Team USA (Jimmie Johnson and Colton Herta). Team Finland (Mika Hakkinen and Emma Kimilainen) and Team Nordic (Tom Kristensen and Johan Kristoffersson) were eliminated in the semi-finals. Team Germany (Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher), Team GB (David Coulthard and Jamie Chadwick), Team France (Sébastien Loeb and Didier Auriol), and Team Sweden (Mattias Ekström and Timmy Hansen) lost in quarterfinals. Team Latin America (Helio Castroneves and Benito Guerra) and Team eROC All Stars (Jarno Opmeer and Lucas Blakeley) were eliminated in Round 1, but Blakeley managed to get a win against Vettel Individual ROC will take place tomorrow, here's the draw: Round 1 Colton HERTA v Helio CASTRONEVES Jamie CHADWICK v Mick SCHUMACHER Round of 16 HERTA or CASTRONEVES v CHADWICK or SCHUMACHER Sebastian VETTEL v Emma KIMILAINEN Jimmie JOHNSON v Mika HAKKINEN Tom KRISTENSEN v David COULTHARD Benito GUERRA v Oliver SOLBERG Sébastien LOEB v Petter SOLBERG Johan KRISTOFFERSSON v Timmy HANSEN Didier AURIOL v Mattias EKSTRÖM
  19. @CaaC (John), check out Reacher on Amazon Prime. New series, just released today, should be your cup of tea!

    Cooking

Yeah, free-range animals have outdoor access while cage-free ones doesn't. But then again, it's still pretty vague and doesn't tell much about other factors of their well-being... Or like the ratings in German stores - even if they are true, the differences between 1 and 4 are still too low, in my opinion. Look at the size of animal enclosure: 4 is surely better than 1, but still - a 100kg animal in a 1.5 square meter space doesn't exactly scream of well-being. And number 3, Außenklima, suggests that the animals have "outdoor climate", but after a quick research, it appears that having a window open in the enclosure is enough to get that ranking... So yeah..

I also try to buy free range eggs and meat, but personally, I also find it hard to believe and trust these kinds of ratings.
