  1. Also, an interesting thing from recent Omicron research: two studies (one from University of Edinburgh, the other from the State Serum Institute in Denmark) observed significantly negative vaccine effectiveness against infection (-70%) and symptomatic disease (-22%) in individuals who received two jabs more than 25 weeks ago (so, last jab 6+ months ago and no booster since then). Obviously needs more research as those were observational studies, but it's intriguing because that was not the case with Delta, not in a single study.
  2. Brussel sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, kale, kohlrabi, and cauliflower are all derived from the same plant through hundreds of years of selective breeding.
  3. The deployment was successful!
  4. Read it yesterday, will believe it when it's official would be massive though. Audi seem to be really interested in taking over McLaren... Red Bull Porsche has a nice ring to it
  5. Must be running out of kids to molest.

I don't have much sympathy for him either, but think it shows terrible incompetence when one institution of a country doesn't appear to know what the other institution is doing, when information is contradictory and when rules are applied arbitrarily.

Nope, he was given the exemption after two independent medical expert panels in Australia approved his request (anonymously, too). One of those was the Independent Medical Exemption Review Panel appointed by the Victorian Department of Health.

Somehow, they are making an even bigger mess of things First grant him the exemption, and then revoke it once there's too much public outrage, and detain him upon arrival for hours? What a shitshow.
  9. Will probably just get a hefty fine, but has ruined his career and his image for something stupid like that.
  10. In case you're still interested - he just signed a professional contract with us and moved to BVB on loan until the end of 2022/2023 season, with an option to buy. Will play for BVB II in the 3. Liga.

"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others". I couldn't care less about his vaccination status, but it's a slap in the face for all those who weren't allowed in or out of the country to see their partners, parents and families in the past two years. But it's not exactly surprising, is it? If you have enough money and status, there are always ways to circumvent the rules.
  12. Zumaran (the Chilean rider in the video) could continue, so no serious injuries, thankfully. For me, the worst part is not even De Villiers hitting him like that; I accept that could happen unintentionally - but not stopping to check on the person you just hit in the middle of a desert is pure evil. And it appears this is not a single incident involving him yesterday: he is now accused of running over a crashed motorbike later in the stage, destroying it and also not stopping to check on the rider or the bike. Unfathomable, especially in a racing event where drivers/riders stopping and ruining their own times to help their competitors in trouble has always been the norm. Surely has to be a DSQ.
  13. Just look at this plonker. And he only got 5 minute penalty for it
  14. What do the numbers represent? Average per year? Week? Lifetime? Average number of sexual partners at the same time?
  15. Sri Lanka is on the brink of bankruptcy before the end of 2022 with estimated 500.000 people having fallen below the poverty line in the past 2 years. Inflation hit a record high of 11.1% in November and escalating prices have left those who were previously well off struggling to feed their families, while basic goods are now unaffordable for many.
  16. Danijel Zenkovic has left the club to join Alfred Schreuder as his assistant coach at Brügge.
  17. 8 episodes in total! The whole season was released by ZDF earlier in December in Germany, whereas BBC has only two episodes out so far. I think the next one comes out tomorrow!
  18. Finished Around The World in 80 Days, and thought it was great. David Tennant is fantastic, the chemistry between him and the other two main actors (Ibrahim Koma & Leonie Benesch) is perfect, the blend of humour and emotion is very well balanced, and Hans Zimmer score is outstanding. The whole adventure is just fun to watch. Great news that Season 2 has already been greenlit, and that they will adapt another Jules Verne novel (Journey to the Centre of the Earth) for it. Hopefully with the same cast. WIth Disney+ filming Nautilus, it looks like adventure genre and particularly Jules Verne adaptations are set for a revival.
  19. So I've been browsing Steam Winter Sale, and found this gem. Thought some of you might be interested
  20. Happy Birthday Isaac Asimov.
  21. First stage completed. Al-Attiyah leads with Toyota in car category, with Loeb and Prokop completing the Top 3. Massive problems for Audi, with Peterhansel's car breaking its rear axle, and Carlos Sainz Sr. losing his wheel bearings. Bike category is being led by Daniel Sanders (KTM), with Quintanilla and Walkner behind him. Sotnikov leads in trucks, Kancius in quad category.
