  2. I'll take 1-1 against Gillingham. We do need to start converting draws into wins though.
  3. I was unlucky this week but that's how it goes!
  4. I guess it's no different to the fixtures for the Premier League and other leagues being drawn by computer, but I agree, this does seem a little suss.
  5. We look a better team lately and could quite easily grab at least a point here. We need to be more clinical with our chances after Saturday's result where we dropped 2 points but if we can do that 3 points is definitely possible.
  6. Are we running out of topic ideas?
  7. This is likely now to be an end-of-season roundup rather than something I rush to get updated - and then we'll do a Euro 2024 edition which I'll actually keep updated!!
  8. If you want an example of the worst officiating decision I've seen in a long time, this is the one I saw in the flesh on Saturday for Sutton v Grimsby. Ref is looking directly at Sutton's player wrestling our players to the ground... lino flags for handball?! Penalty given to Sutton. Referee was full of himself all game, the lino was constantly overuled (rightly so in a few instances), they then refused to shake hands at half time. A shambles. Alex Chilowicz was the referee, and a name I'll remember next time he officiates one of our games. Judging by fans on X, he wasn't popular when he was an MLS ref either.
  9. Travelling to Sutton from Leeds this weekend for our game so we better come away with a good result. We've had 2 decent results in the past 2 games so hoping against bottom of the table Sutton, we can come away with another.
  10. Looking like the Southampton game may be called off due to a fire right next to their fanzone at St Mary's
  11. Another win, no matter how, would be nice to set us up for facing bottom of the league Sutton on Saturday!
  12. It's been reported that Ligue 1 will be renamed Ligue 1 McDonald's from next season, replacing Ligue 1 Uber Eats... Didn't think it could get any worse!
  13. Saturday 9th March, 2024 Lorient 0-1 Lyon, 16.00 Bologna 0-2 Inter Milan, 17.00 Brighton Women 0-0 Man Utd Women, 17.15 Toronto FC 1-0 Charlotte, 19.00 Independiente 1-1 River Plate, 22.15 Sunday 10th March, 2024 Macarthur FC 0-1 Central Coast, 06.00 Bristol City 1-0 Swansea, 12.30 Alaves 1-1 Rayo Vallecano, 13.00 Celtic 3-0 Livingston, 14.30 Young Boys 1-1 Basel, 15.30
  14. Doesn't seem fair for me to claim the double knowing it'll get me money, so I'll go with the cash out of Tranmere.
  15. Nyck de Vries comes across really shit in Drive to Survive...
  16. Didn't realise I'd forgotten again! Dangerous for me as I don't want to tempt fate but didn't want to bet on Grimsby so I'm betting on the two teams around us to lose.
  17. Saturday 2nd March, 2024 Western Sydney 1-1 Sydney FC, 08.45 Huddersfield 0-3 Leeds, 12.30 Dundee 0-1 Kilmarnock Getafe 1-0 Las Palmas, 17.30 Inter Miami 1-1 Orlando City, 21.30 Sunday 3rd March, 2024 Verona 1-1 Sassuolo, 11.30 Arsenal Women 2-0 Tottenham Women, 12.30 PSV 1-0 Feyenoord, 13.30 Besiktas 1-1 Galatasaray, 16.00 Porto 0-1 Benfica, 20.30
  18. One of the biggest games of our season. Forest Green are below us so we NEED to beat them, and then beat Sutton the following weekend to have any chance of avoiding relegation. I'm hoping we can build on a good result at Morecambe last weekend to build up some momentum to get us the vital points needed.
  19. I'm a big fan of the playoffs but I think bias comes into play with that for me as Grimsby have a fairly decent record with play offs. We've been in countless finals and only won 2 of them in the time I've supported the club but those two occasions and the games leading up to them have been some of the best times I've witnessed as a Grimsby fan. It's the luck of the draw and I think teams and players tend to show their true characters in those games. It's commonly said that being promoted via playoffs is better than automatic solely for the occasion of going to a big stadium (if you're a lower league team) and winning it in front of tens of thousands of fans.
  20. Late to this one as been away. Girona play tonight so I'll have them.
