...Damn. Was he the sneaky "he always seemed like such a nice guy" kind, or did it always seem like there was something off about him?

    You people are all insane.
  4. Finished it. The ending was a bit of a letdown, but overall it's the most enjoyable game in the series so far imo. I'm also trying out the Vietnam DLC, which so far plays a lot like the original Crysis.

Adobe are quite ballsy with silently turning trials into fully fledged annual subscriptions. Found out they were helping themselves to 36EUR monthly for something I never used, and if I wanted to cancel the remaining 9 months I'd have to pay a 145EUR fee due immediately. Fortunately, a brief chat with customer support allowed me to dodge the cancellation fee and get a full refund. Merry Christmas.

This is how you become paranoid.
  7. A friend recommended Far Cry 5 to me so I'm playing that. The storytelling is a bit wank and not every design choice pans out well, but overall it's a very enjoyable game, largely thanks to its amazing setting. With the absence of those dumb radio towers and a less linear story progression, it also feels much more open than its predecessors. Definitely the biggest leap forward in this series since FC3.
  8. Bali is like the go-to basic bitch holiday destination here for anyone who wants to go outside Europe. My dad's been there though and says it's nice in spite of it being very touristy.
  9. I bought Crysis and Crysis Warhead again on Steam sale for 5 euros. It's amazing how a 12-year-old game holds up so well, both in terms of looks and gameplay. I seriously enjoy playing this much more than recent Far Cry games.
  10. Latest content update for Elder Scrolls Online is really good. The biggest new city looks like some run-down South-East Asian town with remnants of past glory everywhere to be seen, and the story content is very good by both MMO and Elder Scrolls standards.
  11. A PC if you can afford one. Apart from the price and some exclusives, there are no downsides as a PC can do anything a console can do but not the other way around. Playing games like this on a console is fine though.
  12. As said, the gameplay of the first one takes a while to get used to as it is rather dated and experimental, but the pay-off will be there in the end. The first game isn't that long either at about 15 hours if you take it slowly, with the sequels clocking in at about 25 hours each. Hope you enjoy them!
  13. The Mass Effect trilogy! It's a sci-fi RPG by the same developers that they actually made because they wanted to create another game like KOTOR, but with their own setting/universe instead of a licensed one. What makes it special is that it was always intended to be developed as a trilogy, so there is a lot of careful pacing to the narrative, and many of the choices you make in the first game will follow you all the way into the third game. Mass Effect 1 takes a little while to get used to as it's a bit dated by now, and they're still experimenting with the gameplay a bit. Mass Effect 2 is considered a classic by many, as it has the most interesting characters and story, with Mass Effect 3 being more divisive due to some story aspects, but still offering the best gameplay of the trilogy. The only issue is that I don't know which games you can run, but Mass Effect 1 should be fairly forgiveable as it's from 2007 (with the other games being from 2010 and 2012 respectively). But if you can give it a shot, definitely do so as it's probably my single favorite gaming experience, and you already like other games by that developer.

  15. Yeah I installed a game to my SSD and it runs so smooth it literally made me feel dizzy the first few minutes.
  16. I got an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660 video card, a new SSD, and Windows 10 (previously had 8.1). It took a while to get everything to work properly as the computer repair guys had geniously forgotten to install a driver, but now that everything's set, things run 10x as smooth as on my previous set-up. I'll replace my motherboard and case somewhere next year and it'll practically be a brand-new computer.
  17. Another thing I dislike about craft beers is the culture surrounding it. People who drink them pretend to be ale sommeliers and will go out of their way to try and shame people for just wanting to drink a regular damn beer.
  18. Speaking of which, I've actually been drinking Bud lately. It's dirt cheap and just a regular beer.
