Sevilla vs Roma and LASK vs Man Utd to be behind closed doors, as well as Olympiacos vs Wolves.

Inter vs Getafe postponed after sport in Italy was suspended until 3rd April.

Unfortunate timing, feel sorry for LASK and their supporters. Such a huge game for them and an empty stadium...

LASK will be missing both Filipovic and Wiesinger due to suspensions while Potzmann and Goiginger are both out for the rest of the season with serious knee injuries :( will be hard to replace them.

Roma will not be travelling to Seville after the plane they were due to take has not been given authorisation to fly. It seems like fears over the spread of Coronavirus has prevented this match from taking place.

The Seville v Roma game has been cancelled.

Surely postponed and not cancelled?

Well it's been cancelled, no announcement yet if it will be played at a later date. UEFA will apparently soon announce exactly what is going to happen.

One would presume that the game will be postponed. But if the match goes ahead at a later date, when exactly will it happen? The measures put in place in Italy and Spain regarding coronavirus are long term(well until the virus outbreak dies down, which is unlikely to be anytime this month.) as far as I understand it, so it will be interesting to see what decision UEFA makes.

Come on, LASK!

The missing players for LASK for tonight's game doesn't help their cause, but hopefully they can continue their great standard of football against Man Utd.

No Filipovic, Wiesinger or Potzmann today for LASK, but I think the absence of Goiginger is the biggest blow for the Austrians. Goiginger's creativity and work rate has been instrumental for the Austrian side this season. Hopefully LASK can go toe to toe against the Red Devils and continue their entertaining attacking style of football.

Yeah Goiginger is a huge blow. So unlucky too.

Also Filipovic & Wiesinger being out means Ranftl will have to play at the back and that's another big loss for LASK's attacking play.

Not confident at all but hope for a good performance...

It will be a difficult test for Frankfurt against Basel today. I expect us to win, but this tie will be very challenging.

Basel topped their Europa League group, beating Getafe home and away. They also destroyed Krasnodar 5-0 at home and they also defeated Trabzonspor the other team in their group. All those sides in their group were no pushovers, yet Basel overcame them relatively easily and proved that they were the better side.

Basel also destroyed the tough Cypriot side APOEL Nicosia 4-0 on aggregate in the last round, so I think it will be a tough challenge for us in this round against the Swiss side.

Hopefully Frankfurt are able to show our quality and get the win here today, as a home win will be vital. It would be superb if we make it into the quarter finals again this season.

Yes, unfortunately clubs like LASK don't have the strength in depth that the richer clubs have. So while they can play a high quality of football with their first team players available, they really feel their absence when they are missing.

Frankfurt's starting 11 against Basel today. It looks strong, but I am surprised that Kostic is apparently being played up front alongside Silva. That's very odd if that is the case, but apart from that, I cant really complain about the starting 11. It's a pretty strong starting line-up.Image

God it seems so strange watching Frankfurt play at home in an empty stadium, there's no atmosphere at all and we will be missing our home support.

Come on Frankfurt, lets make Swiss cheese out of Basel today!!

Kostic is playing in his usual position down the left and it's Silva upfront on his own upfront. What I saw earlier was clearly a mistake regarding the formation of Frankfurt. We have started very well here and we are playing well down the flanks.

Rode with a lovely rocket shot from long range that goes narrowly wide of the post. He was set up by Toure who has been excellent for us in these opening minutes. Toure has been a revelation recently for us, he has now displaced Da Costa on a permanent basis down the right flank. Da Costa was a key player for us last season, so it says a lot about Toure's performances, with him having replaced Da Costa in the first 11.

Yeah it just feels like a training session or something.

Hopefully this unfortunate chain of events will at least serve the purpose of reminding how essential match attending fans are for football.
