Vandoorne is racing in Formula E this weekend, so Gutierrez would be the next option.

But there are talks that someone else could replace Perez too.

Brace yourself, @Tommy.................................

Hülkenberg reportedly the favourite to replace Perez this weekend!

Imagine if he comes back and manages to get on the podium xD

That would be immense.

Is anyone else surprised they are still going forward with this? If Perez has it, it's likely that his team and Stroll have it, including everyone they have come into contact with. They have been in such a bubble that it's a possibility that over 50% of the teams have it.

"Information from Silverstone. Racing Point is preparing Nico Hülkenberg's seat to test RP 20 tomorrow. Esteban Gutierrez reported with Mercedes but the lack of recent activity requires a 300 km test to reactivate his super license."

OH MY GOD. IT IS HAPPENING. 2020 has been the weirdest timeline.

They were not in the bubble for the last two weeks though. Perez has reportedly been back to Mexico where he socialised with his family and friends in public, and took photos with fans in restaurant; then went to Italy. Everyone gets tested upon return, before they enter their team/media bubbles for the next race. Perez had contact with some of the team members, all of them are self isolating.

But you are right, it's inevitable, and I don't doubt that we will have more positive cases in the future.

Now  just hope that Racing Point car is not deemed illegal, would be very bitter for him if he gets the seat AND the podium ...

He'd definitely go down in history as the most unlucky F1 driver ever if that happens.

I hope Albon isn't in the same boat in a few years...

Albon never dominated the junior series like Nico did. Nico was basically called the next Michael Schumacher because of his feeder series' results. He sometimes showed his potential in F1, like getting a pole position in a kinda struggling Williams, and having his occasional glimpse of greatness. But he never fulfilled that potential he initially had.

When did Nico get a podium? O.o
