It's been announced that the first match of the season will be Marseille v Saint-Étienne on Friday 21st August.

Historical Derby! What an opener.

OM v ASSE postponed :(

PSG and OL's matches have also been postponed because they're still in the CL, so there will only be 7 matches on the opening weekend of the season.

The first match of the season will now be Bordeaux v Nantes at 4pm UK time on Saturday.

Red card for Zerkane! Not too sure on that...

Yeah it was harsh.

A 0-0 to start the season then, not the most exciting opening match ever. Nantes played the majority of the match against 10 men and really should've gone for it more, but they never really took advantage of the extra man and Gourcuff waited far too long to make changes.

Let's hope tomorrow's matches will be more entertaining.

Literally just turned on the TV after being out all day and see Sasha Boey almost karate kicks someone and then knock himself out on the landing. It was a very heavy fall and the ref showed the red card as he was knocked out on the floor. I doubt Boey knows he's been sent off xD

Can have no complaints though.

Yeah, ridiculous challenge but I was more worried about his landing than the boot to the head. Looked horrible. Glad he's conscious again.

Definitely. Landing flat on your face from about 5 foot really isn't great.

Another red card! Reinildo off for Lille! He got the ball but perhaps a scissor motion? Renne's player looks to get his leg caught underneath Reinildo which makes it look very bad.

Camavinga is going to be some talent. Only 17 and plays with ridiculous amounts of confidence. Rennes have a potentially superb player on their hands.

He's showing Renato Sanches up. Making him look like an amateur.
