Chickasaw
Chelsea have become a tad anonymous at the end of this season haven't they? Very unlike them. Not sure what they'll do next season.

Well I mean we kind of had some sanctions to deal with, along with 60% of the team who had their eye out the door since January.
Cicero
Word for today, is thrust. Armando Broja and Levi Colwill will be given the chance to force their way into Thomas Tuchel's thoughts, while Conor Gallagher will be immediately thrust into the first-team squad after his outstanding season at Crystal Palace. - @jamesalanrobson — Simon Phillips (@siphillipssport) May 19, 2022

We certainly have had a hard season as Cicero says off the pitch issues with sanctions, Tuchel's divorce and long injuries with both WBs out at times. This is also close to Lampard not being able to spend one season and also playing more games than anyone else this season though think Liverpool will match our games total in the Champions League final. Cicero
Injuries, sanctions, Tuchel's divorce, and Lukaku interview all surely played a part but the biggest issue is tactics and personnel.
Waylander
TBH on balance think we have done in consideration of all the factors. We have been saying on other forums for about 3 years we needed a squad rebuild now we might get one though not as we intended.

Cicero
The Premier League Board has today approved the proposed takeover of Chelsea Football Club by the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Consortium. The purchase remains subject to the Government issuing the required sale licence and the satisfactory completion of the final stages of the transaction. The Board has applied the Premier League’s Owners’ and Directors’ Test (OADT) to all prospective Directors, and undertaken the necessary due diligence. The members of the Consortium purchasing the club are affiliates of the Clearlake Capital Group, L.P., Todd Boehly, Hansjorg Wyss and Mark Walter. Chelsea FC will now work with the relevant Governments to secure the necessary licences to complete the takeover. I guess the good thing about a takeover is that the new owners are not going to be as hesitant about taking a loss on some players as they can write it off as a mistake by the previous ownership. As a neutral it looked like Werner, Havertz and Mount played some decent football together around the time of the FA Cup semi to suggest they should be Tuchel's go to men as a front three at the start of next season. Virtually no way we go into next season with the same attackers. Expecting at least 1-2 additions. Sterling, Dembele, and Nkunku being reported as options. Yeah but on a free he's worth a risk. We aren't going to splash a whole lot of money on a single player all things considered so with Sterling on his last year at City and Dembele on a free, its good business. Particularly if we sell off Pulisic/Ziyech and Werner.

The government has approved the £4.25bn takeover of Chelsea by a consortium led by LA Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly. The London club was put up for sale in March before owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned over his links to Russian president Vladimir Putin. On Tuesday, the Premier League said the consortium had passed its owners' and directors' test. Chelsea have been operating under a special government licence which expires on 31 May. "Late last night the UK government reached a position where we could issue a licence that permits the sale of Chelsea," a government spokesperson said in a statement on Wednesday.
