La Liga to be shown on Eleven Sports in the UK

I tried to watch the golf on eleven sports and the coverage was shocking. Buffering, stopping. Just shit.

They are the same guys that run Leeds streaming service and Leeds fans were saying on twitter that nobody should be surprised as Leeds streaming service is awful quality and reliability. They need to fix it quickly or people will quickly turn away from it.

The question also arises on what SKY will offer UK subscribers in the slot that was once reserved for La Liga!

Have they purchased the rights to the Curling League?

Re-runs of the Premier League Years or old EFL play-off matches which we don't get enough of right now...

@SirBalon Every game is shown on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as I've just checked. It doesn't have the listings for Monday though so I'm not sure about those 2 games but I don't see what else would be on La Liga.tv on a Monday night when 2 games are on.

Right now from my checking up it's difficult to ascertain what games are being shown mate.  They have to polish up on a few things from what I'm seeing but the attention they're giving La Liga is top notch from what I've observed and I can only imagine it'll get better once they've got the punditry from SKY too (minus Gerry Armstrong who's a plum).

Mark Bolton presenting it with Rob Palmer doing the commentary is what they need.

I remember BT SPORTS having various problems when they started out and also quite a number of issues when they took control of the Champions League...  There will be many things to iron out but what's for sure is that those that worked doing La Liga on SKY will now be looking for a job and the natural thing to do for Eleven Sports is to employ them there... Like I said thoug, WITHOUT Gerry Armstrong.

You can't say that this intro won't be missed though, however much you love or hate Sky. The lads in the studio did a good job, it's just that sky sports as a company are dramatically falling. We can't fault the fellas in the studio though as they were informative. They also had a lot of big name guests in the studio in the studio with big connections to La Liga and a lot of knowledge about it in the likes of Toshack, Michael Laudrup, Albert Ferrer, etc.

Then you have their old intro from the 90s:-

Anyway, Eleven Sports' coverage isn't the best yet, but their options are class. There is always something La Liga related on one of their channels, as it is La Liga TV after all. We've never had a full channel available in the UK before that is dedicated to one league overseas.

You would hope that Eleven Sports has professional media people working there and that they've been involved in media coverage before apart from viewing what others have been offering in the same vein.  I expect them to do a good job if they want to sell the product.  They have two of the most historic leagues in the world in their hands and messing up would ruin them.

They’ve been showing Serie A football for years, I did some digging into their background. They’re negotiating with SKY, Virgin et al to broadcast across satellite and cable

Understandable. The Premier League is the marquee brand, It’s a bit of an emperors new clothes situation too. It created its own allure without the big name players in its infancy.

Apparently Juve's opening game against Chievo (aka Ronaldo's debut) will be shown for free on facebook.

I haven't had any problems streaming the game on my iPhone.  Must be someone on that inferior software called Android.  :whistling:

I’ve just switched to the Celta v Espanyol game from the Chievo v Juve (Mandzukic scored and that’s it for me) and I have to say that the difference in quality with everything between the treatment for Serie ‘A’ and La Liga is tremendous. Serie ‘A’ is literally a second plate for Eleven Sports.

Oh right... I subscribed yesterday because I'm curious and watched it first on mi iPhone on the way home and then on my iPad with no issues whatsoever.  Great coverage but better quality for La Liga.

There are 3 channels on there now I see, Eleven Sports, Eleven Sports 2 and La Liga TV. Not bad for 6 quid a month is it.

what's the quality like?

with the monthly subscription, is it for minimum amount of time or do you have to manually renew each month?

It's like netflix where it automatically renews unless you end the subscription yourself and the quality has been good for me via a pc.

cheers. I just signed up for the 7-day free trial.

Quality on the phone seems really good. Better than what you get on Sky Sports app sometimes.

I have to concur with this...

I subscribed for a month to experience what they're doing with La Liga and was also curious to see Serie 'A's treatment because I enjoy that league.  It's brilliant, seamless, no problems at all with very good commentary and punditry within the game.  Plus all the shows you get are of a very high standard.  Obviously La Liga is getting the star treatment and I hope they do this with Serie 'A' in the future too.

I will be taking the annual subscription because it's worth it at £50.  I only hope they bring out an app for my AppleTV.

Top quality and beats SKY for me.

Amazing how Eleven Sports announced they would be showing football in the UK between 15:00-17:15 without realising that it's against the law to do so. Amatuer or what?

Firstly, I celebrate that to be honest.  It's always annoyed me!

But maybe the reason why they're permitted to do this is because they're not a British company and our based overseas with the transmition coming from elsewhere.  That way they aren't subject to British laws as long as they keep to legal content being shown.

They couldn't show the games, they didn't realise that it was illegal over here to do so.

Have you read that somewhere mate?

Honestly... That law is ridiculous and archaic.
