A blend of seasoned pros across the divisions, coupled with some the exciting youth who have excelled under horrible circumstances. Permission to get giddy ... Can a miracle happen? Miracles can happen @Pig on the Wing, who would have thought Leicester winning the EPL in season 2015/16 with odds at 5000/1, I hope they do stay up and then a lot of cows shite is dumped outside a certain man's mansion that nearly destroyed them as a club. Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted September 9, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted September 9, 2019 Joe Bunney: Bolton Wanderers defender breaks ribs and collarbone in a car crash Bolton Wanderers left-back Joe Bunney is in hospital after breaking ribs and a collarbone in a car crash, the club has confirmed. The 25-year-old only joined the Trotters from Northampton on 2 September and is yet to make his debut. The League One club say Bunney will remain in hospital for the next 48 hours as a "precautionary measure". "Everybody at Bolton Wanderers wishes Joe a quick recovery," said a club statement. Former Rochdale player Bunney made the last of his 18 Northampton appearances against Plymouth on 31 August. Bolton started the season with a 12-point deduction and were only saved from liquidation on 28 August, when Football Ventures (Whites) Limited took control of the 145-year-old Football League founder members. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49633640
Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted November 21, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted November 21, 2019 Bolton Wanderers given a suspended five-point deduction for failing to fulfil fixtures Bolton has been given a five-point deduction, suspended for 18 months, for failing to fulfil fixtures against Brentford last season and Doncaster this term. Wanderers were due to play the Bees on 27 April but players refused to play the fixture over unpaid wages. The club postponed their game against Doncaster on 20 August over welfare concerns for youth players. A 12-point deduction was already given for entering administration in May FULL REPORT. Pig on the Wing
Twitter is in meltdown some properly bitter bellends following league one clubs. Like -12 points and five games playing the kids wasn't enough. We're going to fucking stay up and fans of whoever finishes third bottom are going to have a monumental paddy. Bring it on, this season is wonderful. (Pardon my inactivity, I've been hooked on the club boards the past few weeks!) Up the shithousing whites! #lovetheefl
Administrator Stan Posted November 22, 2019 Administrator Share Posted November 22, 2019 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50516578 EFL to appeal against the 'lenient' 5 point deduction . They have no morals. Quote The English Football League will appeal against the "lenient" suspended points deduction given to Bolton Wanderers over unfulfilled fixtures. Bolton had a five-point deduction suspended for 18 months after failing to fulfil fixtures against Brentford last season and Doncaster this term. The EFL said it is "disappointed by the conclusions reached by the independent disciplinary commission". Bolton were fined a total of £70,000, with half also suspended for 18 months. "Given the potential for postponements to have a significant impact on competition integrity and, following receipt of advice overnight on the reasons provided, the League will appeal the outcome in the strongest possible sense," added an EFL statement. The commission, appointed by the EFL to rule on disciplinary matters independently from the organisation, met last Thursday to discuss the case. Bolton, who were relegated from the Championship last season amid financial problems, started this season in League One with a 12-point deduction and only moved into positive points on Saturday. Their players went on strike over unpaid wages as last season came to an end and refused to play their game against Brentford on 27 April. The fixture was rearranged for 7 May, after the conclusion of the final round of league games, but was cancelled when cash-strapped Bolton were given a prohibition notice on their ground after the club could not guarantee there would be enough safety personnel at the game. The Trotters called off their fifth game of this season against Doncaster on 20 August at just 28 hours' notice, citing welfare concerns for their players. Bolton had been fielding a side largely made up of youth players at that time - they had just three senior outfield players in their previous game - and the fixture would have been the third for the club in the space of seven days. Wanderers were taken over by Football Ventures (Whites) Limited on 28 August but are still bottom of League One on one point, 12 away from safety and four off 23rd-placed Southend United. Pig on the Wing
Back to #fucktheefl it is then. The optimist in me hopes that they're appealing it so they can get away with only giving us a 3 point deduction and maintain the integrity of the league, while looking like hard bastards who keep clubs in line. The realist in me thinks we're going to get fucked with another -12, because LOL y not
Dave
I'm against point deductions in present football just because this is a situation that the EFL have bought on themselves. The new TV deal is nothing short of a disgrace and since introducing the points deduction scheme they have done absolutely nothing to protect clubs from financial mismanagement. Dave
AFC Wimbledon are now very much a realistic target for Bolton to catch up with. I heard murmurs from people that would know what's going on that last year that they hadn't budgeted for relegation and relegation would have meant no new stadium. I believed when I saw how excited they were with there cup run because of the revenue it created. Now they've released a statement saying they've been told they have to raise 11 million by January to ensure the new stadium is built. Surely without a takeover that's pretty impossible? No way will they raise that money. Renting off Chelsea at The Kingsmeadow next season. A budget barely capable of surviving in league two. Unfortunately it all sounds very familiar for them. Teso dos Bichos
Will they keep Dennis Politic or sell him this January? Last time I checked, both Aston Villa and wolves were being link to the young winger who spent a few years at man utd before heading to fulham. Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted June 12, 2020 Subscriber Share Posted June 12, 2020 Keith Hill: Bolton Wanderers boss to leave after relegation from League One Manager Keith Hill will leave Bolton Wanderers when his contract expires at the end of June following the club's relegation from League One. The 51-year-old former Rochdale boss was appointed last August, three days after Football Ventures (Whites) Limited had completed its takeover. Wanderers, who started the season with a 12-point deduction for entering administration, finished bottom. Hill's assistant David Flitcroft will also leave at the end of the month. The pair, who also worked together at both Rochdale and Barnsley, guided Bolton to six wins in 35 matches. Chairman Sharon Brittan said the club believed it "to be in the best interests that we have a fresh approach to our management and coaching structure for next season and beyond". https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53028815

Smiley Culture
When you look at the jobs that have come up this year, Sunderland, Lincoln, MK Dons, Scunthorpe, Bradford and Blackpool have all changed managers this season and you could make a more than valid case for Hill to get any of them, it makes me wonder whether Bolton was the right choice.
