Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted April 29, 2022 Subscriber Posted April 29, 2022 Just now, Stan said: Boris Becker jailed for 2.5yrs for hiding assets to avoid paying debts. Thought this said Boris Johnson and was like why the fuck is he posting this in the tennis thread. Now I'm not confused but I am disappointed. He's a mad one Boris Becker. One of those athletes who just didn't find an outlet for his energy after retiring and ending up a bit all over the place. Seen stories about gambling, bankruptcy, and it's well known he has plenty of illegitimate kids knocking about. 1 Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted May 3, 2022 Subscriber Posted May 3, 2022 Andy Murray on a decent run at the Madrid Masters on clay. Just picked up his first top 20 win of the season against Shapovalov and plays Djokovic in the next round. Their first meeting for over 5 years. 1 Quote

The lad is only 18 as well and he's ranked in the top 10 in men's tennis. By far the biggest prodigy tennis has seen since the "big three" on the evidence we've seen so far. 1 Quote
Administrator Stan Posted May 31, 2022 Administrator Posted May 31, 2022 Enjoyable game as ever between Nadal and Djokovic. Nadal looked very comfortable for a set and a half, Djokovic coming back into it a bit. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted May 31, 2022 Administrator Posted May 31, 2022 John McEnroe is pissing me off. Stop going on about Nadal's serve time! He won't change a habit of a lifetime in the middle of a match ffs. Quote
Moderator Tommy Posted May 31, 2022 Moderator Posted May 31, 2022 Yesss, 3rd set looks good for Rafa! Quote
Administrator Stan Posted May 31, 2022 Administrator Posted May 31, 2022 Brilliant game once again. Djokovic about to take the 4th. Feel like Rafa is tiring though 1 Quote
Administrator Stan Posted May 31, 2022 Administrator Posted May 31, 2022 Rafa nearly there!! Brought it back from 5-2 in the 4th to take it to a tie break. Now leads 5-1 in that tie break... Quote
Moderator Tommy Posted June 1, 2022 Moderator Posted June 1, 2022 VAMOS! Watched the final minutes of this in bed last night. Made me sleep much better! Quote
Administrator Stan Posted June 1, 2022 Administrator Posted June 1, 2022 Rafa's resolve in the final set was superb. Not satisfied with letting it go to a 5th, had to dig deep to recover in that set and it paid off. The mental fortitude of both of these players is astonishing though. Djokovic a set and 3-0 down at one point, recovered to take it to 1-1 into the 3rd set. And then Rafa down 3-0 and 5-2 in the 4th, then ends up winning. They find the physical and mental strength out of nowhere. Quote
Moderator Tommy Posted June 3, 2022 Moderator Posted June 3, 2022 What a shitty way to end an epic match. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted June 3, 2022 Administrator Posted June 3, 2022 Yeah probably not even the way Nadal would have wanted it to end. Looked like a horrible injury. Hope he makes a full recovery as he's a quality player. Rafa in the final again though Quote
