It's also worth mentioning that one team dominance is a sort of a cyclical thing in F1; it's always been there. New rules and big regulation changes have been usually introduced in order to stop the dominance of one constructor and level the playing field a bit (and bring the TV ratings back up); when that happens one dominance usually ends and another dominant team arises slowly. Rinse and repeat. It's been like that pretty much from the very beginning; it's just that the differences weren't that huge and the cars weren't that complex. Late 80s it was McLaren, then Williams in the 90s, Ferrari in 2000s and Red Bull in early 2010s. Now it's Mercedes and the thing with them is not only their extreme dominance but also the fact that the second team (in this case Ferrari) just fails to deliver on a regular basis despite having sufficient resources. They were a mess of a team riddled with dirty politics and infighting throughout the most of the 80s and the 90s as well until they went through immense changes and turned their fortunes around under Todt, Brawn and Schumacher. Then they went on a winning spree and everyone was complaining how boring and predictable F1 has become. Once the golden age was over they slowly fell apart and returned back to the old ways of internal power struggles and poor organisation, and the current mess badly needs restructuring and reorganisation again in my opinion.
nudge Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 The Norris/Stroll crash has been declared a racing incident. No further action taken.

Either they have gone backwards or Merc have pushed on. Ferrari have now admitted that they may have got the whole car concept completely wrong this year https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/ferrari-2019-car-concept-wrong/4387513/
