  1. Yes, they hit so many cities, as you said, he will have had this all planned a while ago. Very, very sad times indeed.
  2. No, I returned to the UK on the 16th. I am in the UK but I have friends in Ukraine. It's very sad what the tyrant from Moscow is doing.

That was a dominant display by Brook, he badly punished Khan in this fight. Brook won every round before the 6th Round TKO. This was an absolutely one sided fight for Brook, but Khan did well to take all those punches. Props to the pair of them for making up at the end though and Khan was humble in defeat. Both boxers should probably retire sooner rather than later, because they have taken a lot of punishment in the various fights that they have had over the years.
  5. The 78-year-old Ukrainian grandmother preparing for a Russian invasion - BBC News Even Ukrainian babushkas are ready to fight and die, in order to defend their country.
  6. Interestingly enough, both the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania encompassed all of Belarus and most of Ukraine, amongst it's territories, as well as other regions. That part of Eastern Europe( I say that, as I am now back in England, typing this on the coach) though, has always been an area where land has been fought over and where wars have been waged. Being situated between Germany and Russia, two mighty competing powers, hasn't really helped the region over the centuries. But as far as Russia is concerned, they have to learn to let go of their former territories that gained independence from them. Ukrainians will never accept uniting with Russia again. If it wasn't for the ethnic Russians in Ukraine, arguably the whole country would be united against Russia, both Ukrainian and Russian speakers. It's no surprise that similar sentiments are shared in the Baltic states and in almost all of the former Soviet Republics. Whether Russia invades or doesn't invade Ukraine, one thing is for sure, the Ukrainians are prepared for one hell of a fight, to defend their country.
  7. “The sky remains open”: Ukraine clarified the situation with air traffic over the territory of the country - Then24 I spent the earlier part of today in a bit of a panic, as I read Ukrainian online sources state the following: "️ Most likely from tomorrow, from 16:00 Kyiv time, air traffic in Ukraine will be suspended." Apparently this was a quote from one of the ministers, his name escapes me. Seeing as my flight out of Ukraine is on Wednesday, this news would have put me in a bit of a pickle. However, I was relieved to read several hours later, that Mykhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, had announced the following: "Ukraine sees no point in closing the airspace. This is nonsense. I think that in some sense it resembles a partial blockade,” So hopefully things stay as they are between now and the 16th of February, so that I can get my backside out of here.
  8. Newspaper headlines: 'Get out' of Ukraine and Russia could invade 'any day' - BBC News I am currently in Ukraine and despite the headlines, as well as the warnings by the British and American embassies, life goes on as usual on the streets of every city in Ukraine. I am not disputing the intel that the UK government and other major governments have as regards to the situation with Russia, but part of me feels that the US in particular, is stirring the pot to a degree. Even the Ukrainian government alluded to the fact that the US was causing alarm with their rhetoric and that people should remain calm about this situation. It doesn't seem either that our British government has helped that much in resolving this issue. Truss's meeting with Lavrov was a disaster. I understand that we shouldn't bend over to please the Russians, but threatening them will only lead to them becoming even more antagonistic, which will push everyone away from a peaceful outcome. The fact that the Russian media has said that Moscow finds it easier to hold diplomatic talks in Kiev rather than London, I believe speaks volumes. I think Truss also needs to sharpen up on her geography, as apparently she confused lands that legitimately belong to Russia as being Ukrainian sovereign territory and she allegedly also confused the Black Sea with the Baltic Sea. We shall see how this situation ultimately pans out in the coming days or weeks, but I personally think there is a much higher chance that Russia doesn't invade. It would be very counter productive in many ways for them and I don't think that they would be that foolish as to conduct a full on invasion of Ukraine.

  11. I see his spell as China manager was illustrious and successful. What a legacy he left.... In all honesty, I don't think that Lampard, Cannavaro or Rooney are the right men for the job. Surely Everton can find someone more distinguished and proven for the managerial role at the club.

I can't comment too much on his life outside of boxing, in fact I am not surprised if these allegations are indeed true, as the family is known to be quite rough. However Peter Fury does know his boxing and he always seems to give an intelligent and sensible assessment of fights.

I would not say that Fury totally dominated last night. This was Fury's toughest fight of the trilogy against Wilder. Fury certainly dominated the 2nd fight as he spanked Wilder around the ring. But I'd say Wilder won 3 or 4 rounds of the fight yesterday, with Fury winning about 6 or 7 of the rounds before Wilder was knocked out in the 11th round. Wilder started with intent in this fight and he was a threat throughout, despite Fury getting more punches in and being the better boxer. Listen, if we hadn't seen what Fury has been able to recover from in the past, most of us watching that 4th round would have said that's it, Wilder has won it. But Fury recovered from those huge hits as we have seen how he's recovered in the past from huge punches that have floored him(That late knockdown in Fury v Wilder 1, is a case in point). Even though Fury definitely had the upper hand in most of the rounds, Wilder always posed a threat and he landed with some big punches even in the later rounds when he was clearly tiring. In my opinion it boiled down to the fact that Fury is the better boxer, he is the much fitter man and he has a heart of a lion. However Wilder used his big punches to good affect last night, but even that wasn't good enough, as Fury proved too skilled for him in the end. Fury has it all, he's got the height and weight, he's extremely skilled and he is quick on his feet. He also punches very hard, regardless of what some of his critics might say. Fury is the complete package and it's always a pleasure to watch him fight.

Both fighters took some big hits and showed some real heart. 5 knockdowns in total in the fight, but Fury is just something else.

Listen, lets be honest, AJ was outclassed by Usyk in this fight. I say AJ won 4 rounds at most and that's being generous as it was more like 3. So he has experienced that trying to box arguably the best pound for pound boxer in the world is only going to lead to a convincing defeat for him. But I believe that he took the more cautious approach in this fight because he didn't want to get exposed early against Usyk. As swinging with big punches would have left him very exposed if he didn't connect and it could have been potentially embarrassing for him. However, in the rematch, I think he has little choice but to go for broke. He was outclassed when he decided to box Usyk this Saturday, so now I think that he has little option but to go into the rematch and start swinging and hoping for the best. If he catches the lightning quick Usyk with a huge hit that's accurate, he could find genuine success. But equally, he could be humbled by Usyk if he fails to connect properly with his big punches, as Usyk will take full advantage when Joshua exposes himself. Either way, I think that the rematch should be just as entertaining. Usyk is a masterclass and it would make it entertaining if Joshua managed to catch Usyk with a huge punch. It would be interesting to see how Usyk would respond. However, if you ask me, I think Usyk will dominate the rematch as well, regardless of what approach or tactics Joshua deploys. But that's just my own personal opinion from watching Usyk's superb boxing skills.
