  1. A lot of very repetitive winners. I could never understand when I was younger why American sports had draft systems. Obviously it would never work over here as you'd eliminate the concept of relegation, but seeing graphs like that make me realise why they do it and why it works for them.
  2. Could John Textor throw an uppercut at Steve Parish on his way out?
  3. My first thought was tough paper round.
  4. Brentford, Southampton and Wolfsburg are interested in signing Sepp Van Den Berg. Liverpool value the defender at £20m. (Source: James Pearce)
  5. Real Sociedad are interested in signing Carlos Soler from PSG. Villareal and Aston Villa are also in the mix for the midfielder. (Source: @Santi_J_FM)
  6. Agreement in principle on personal terms between Al-Duhail and Luis Alberto. All that is missing is the agreement with Lazio: an offer of €10M could be enough for Lazio. (Source: @MatteMoretto)
  7. No mural of the ball rebounding in Batshuayi's face is a shame.
  8. Yeah, if you were to combine a XI of Portugal and England I'd call it 6/5 in England's favour but the Portugal players that miss out could still be match winners if the sides meet. For disclosure i'd have Diogo Costa, Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, John Stones, Joan Cancelo, Declan Rice, Joao Palhinha, Bukayo Saka, Bruno Fernandes, Phil Foden, Harry Kane.
  9. Shakhtar have set a €70m price tag on Tottenham target Georgiy Sudakov, with hopes that a strong performance at the EUROs will increase his value even more. (Source: Ben Jacobs)
  10. I'm not sure what to make of him. He's a real advocate of the multi-club ownership model whilst Parish, Harris and Blitzer are not which is why he's selling up. He's never had full control here as the other three vote in unison so its better to look at what he's done at his other clubs. He's had a real tough time of it in Lyon. They've sold some real class potential in the past 18 months and they had the big issue with previous owner freezing club bank accounts once he recognised Textor wasn't going to let him continue running the club as a dictatorship. He's turned the corner with Botafogo by winning a Championship after he originally left the fan base livid by selling there best player midway through a campaign to Lyon. His Belgium club don't seem to like him and the story that stands out the most is he signed a player who was the highest transfer fee in the league, only for him to be immediately loaned to Lyon. I get the impression he's investment heavy as opposed to cash heavy. I think he has a vision but he's effectively learning on the job with these football clubs. I think there will be growing pains for him at Everton, and at times it will be frustrating, but I think he's a far better option than Moshiri and 777. You'll always have a football club to support under him.
  11. Five year contract according to Ornstein. That's a lovely payout heading Maresca's way.
  12. Hansi Flick will travel to Barcelona tomorrow and sign his contract with Barça on Wednesday. He will be committed until June 2026. (Source: @FabrizioRomano)
  13. Ideal scenario for Brighton and Ipswich in my opinion. Brighton get a manager who knows the score and Ipswich get to continue what they've started.
  14. I think this is the appointment to judge him on. At Birmingham he was inheriting a squad that was built to play the total opposite to how the owners wanted them to play and they didn't give him a transfer window to bring in the players he wanted. The fact he's willing to take on a job so far away from where he's situated shows his commitment and Plymouth often give there managers ample opportunity to impress.
  15. Wonder how much him looking like Pep is affecting the decision to appoint him.
