England National Team Discussion
The Palace Fan replied to carefreeluke's topic in International Competitions
I've always been quite fond of Bettenelli because of his father's links to us. Of all the Fulham players casted away this summer, it was him I felt most sorry for. So with that penalty save and this call up, he must be having the best week of his life right now. -
Been watching the highlight shows under the impression I'll develop some form of knowledge of future talents. Instead all I see is Hunterlaar and Van Persie get two goals each.

The White Hart. That's a time warp moment when that placed closed there locals moved on to two other places who also ended up closing. So The North Star conveniently closed for 3 weeks refurbishment when they closed. They're still the last pub standing Christmas Eve this year at the north star will be a sight now the Weathersoons on the A3 roundabout is gone and Surbiton will not accommodate anyone from Chessington.

The N65 in Kingston was like that every weekend.
-
The worse bit was afterwards the taxi company in Crawley took 20 minutes to dispatch someone and it's a 20 minute walk home.

Literally amazed that a light hearted comment about somebody that I wouldn't have trusted with a crayon at Palace has elicited such a thought provoking response. -

Taking injuries and current form in to account I would have him in the squad, which is why it took me long to respond as I've been searching the office for a white flag or a towell. It's a sorry state of affairs really. -

He was ok last season, not great. Being voted Southampton's best player last season is hardly something to be doing cartwheels over. -
Looking forward to seeing how Marcus Edwards gets on at Excelsior.

Ajax, PSV, Feyenood and Willem II all recording wins this weekend.

The FA Continental Tyres League Cup is underway. The main talking point was Manchester United's Women's team first home game since their relaunch. After winning their first game 1-0 against Liverpool, they have been knocked out 2-0 to Reading. They played in front 4,835 people which is a record in this competition.

A thread to discuss one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Please do not piss me off with innapropiate comments in this thread.

I haven't got the foggiest to be honest. I was half expecting Ambrose to turn at Summerslam but was glad he didnt. There's enough heels to keep them entertained for the time being.
-
I'm glad Reigns has the title now, hopefully means somebody else will get the mania moment. Hopefully Brawn or Rollins on Raw.
-
He is still a legend on Twitter and in interviews.

Whilst Summerslam felt like an event that needed to happen to move storylines on, NXT Takeover was amazing. In my opinion the best takeover ever. I went to an ROH event in London yesterday. It was ok but for there to be no Cody Rhodes, Bully Ray, Emma, Frankie Kazarian, Dalton Castle, Silas Young, Kingdom or Shane Taylor was really underwhelming.

To announce it at half time was bizarre. Hardly going to give the fans a lift for the second half.

Hes retired from international football now. Only 31. It feels like he should be much older.

On a side note welcome back @Julio Geordio -
Messi announced as club captain ahead of Pique.

Come on now, don't take the piss mate, we all know exactly who he's talking about here. @Mel81x @JOSHBRFC @Harry @ScoRoss and myself.

Unfortunately he had a lot of issues, some of which seemed self inflicted. --- I can't believe I'm saying this but Slammiversary was one of the best shows Impact have put out there in roughly ten years. Apart from maybe Eddie Edwards (who has bizarrely transitioned himself in to a very good hardcore wrestler) none of these guys would benefit from moving to WWE so hopefully they can keep this group together for another year or two.
