Interesting to see Spain's defence , Carvajal and Le Normand are both suspended

Somebody has to make the semi finals, other than Spain and perhaps Germany nobody has looked that good.

I originally thought it was a penalty but the replay showed he was moving his hand towards his body and by the time the ball made contact he was almost touching his leg.

Thought that was in.

Seems similar to what happened in Canada 30 odd years ago. Our conservative party at the time where called Progressive Conservatives. A number of conservatives felt they had become more progressive than conservative and formed the Reform party. Reform and the PC's split the vote the next couple of elections allowing the Liberals to get pretty easy majority governments while not really increasing their share of the vote. Kind of like Labour gaining over 200 seats while increasing their share of the vote by less than 2%. Eventually the right united and formed the Conservative party , won the next election and were in power for 10 years. Then people growing tired of the then government threw them out and put the Liberals back in for a little over ten years. We have an election next year and with the Conservatives over 20 points a head in the polls, it's expected we will have Conservative government next year. The thing is nothing every changes no mater who is in power, the differences between the two main parties really isn't that great.

Results are very slow. Polls closed 3 and a half hours and there has only been a few results.

Seems it has more to do with finance and PSR than desire to own the players. All those players play pretty well for their teams, can't see why they want to get rid of.

I have to admit Turkey are surprising me. Thought Austria would be too attacking for them.

Does look a better player for Holland than Liverpool. So does Darwin Nunez for Uruguay.

I kind of lost sight of de Ligt when he went to Bayern, I thought he hadn't performed that well, wrongly it seems. United were after him before he went to Bayern and potentially it was thought he was going to be one of the best CB out there. Hopefully if he does come to United he will reach that potential. 40 million Euros in today's market is a very good deal.

Very inexperienced ref, seemed overwhelmed by the occasion. Never really took controll of a chippy game. Not sure about the linemen, whether they were experienced or not. The VAR decision on Uruguay's goal was controversial, but it might have been onside by a toe nail.

Austria to me have been the surprise of the tournament. I think they are the biggest obstacle to England making the final. They should be Turkey.

The Dutch are another team that has not played up to their potential. Romania looked great against Ukraine in their first game, poor against Belguim and average in their 3rd game. So who knows how this will go. Koeman got the line up wrong against Austria and Holland looked fragile,e at the back, but they are a more talented team so I think they will just edge it.
