  1. The calls for a ceasefire have nothing to do with stopping civilians from being killed. It's to stop the Israeli offensive. It is designed to protect Hamas, to stop Israel from eliminating them and allow them to kill again another day. A ceasefire now will benefit Hamas , it will allow them to escape being fully punished for what they did on October 7th and it will allow them to claim victory. If they are not finished now, the next time they attack Israel it will be worse.
  2. Canada and a number of of European countries including Germany and Italy voted against because tbey stand with Israel. The UK is trying to have it both ways. The resolution is just window dressing, the UN are trying to hide their antisemitism among caring for civilians just like Hamas hides their weapons among hospitals, schools and mosques as well as hopefully puting pressure on Israel to agree to a ceasefire . These so called civilians are the same people who cheer every time a rocket is fired into Israel, the same people who chant from the river to the sea which means the end of Israel, the same people who cheer every Israeli death and the same people who willingly raise their children to be martyrs . No there's no sympathy here. The resolution is also one sided, a Canadian ammendment to also condemn the actions of Hamas failed to pass, showing for most countries at the UN this was just another opportunity to critize Israel, none of them care about the civilians in Gaza, this is their antisemitism showing plain and simple.
  3. Ashamed they abstained, should have voted against.
  4. Crystal Palace 0-2 Tottenham Chelsea 2-1 Brentford Arsenal 3-0 Sheff Utd Bournemouth 1-1 Burnley Wolves 0-2 Newcastle West Ham 2-1 Everton Aston Villa 3-1 Luton Brighton 2-0 Fulham Liverpool 3-0 Nottm Forest Man Utd 1-2 Man City
  5. I thought he struck it well, you have to give credit to the keeper, that was a very good save.
  6. I saw that the Hamass political operative has been living in England for a decade. Surprised Mossad has taken him out, maybe and hopefully that it is know where he lives they will.
  7. I think the hostages who have been released have concern for the hostages who are still being held. You are not going to hear the truth of how the released ones have been treated until all hostages are released.
  8. The underground facilities that Hamas maintains in Gaza, are often placed under hospitals, schools, and mosques.. Under International law, “dual use” of civilian facilities makes them legitimate targets.
  9. Harsh if it went off Mudryk' s head. They took an awful long time to decide to send the ref over to have a look. What would happen if Arsenal had scored in the mean time?
  10. 203 have been confirmed by Israel. Happy to see those two released but you wonder about the rest and why these two and not somebody else were released.
  11. Saturday 21st October, 2023 Liverpool 3-1 Everton, 12.30 Bournemouth 1-1 Wolves Brentford 2-0 Burnley Man City 4-2 Brighton Newcastle 2-0 Crystal Palace Nottm Forest 1-0 Luton Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal, 17.30 Sheff Utd 0-2 Man Utd, 20.00 Sunday 22nd October, 2023 Aston Villa 2-1 West Ham, 16.30 Monday 23rd October, 2023 Tottenham 3-1 Fulham, 20.00
  12. You can stop any game being played at Old Trafford, invade the pitch, have a sit in on the pitch, have people handcuff themselves to the goal posts, stop the opposing teams buses from getting to the stadium. Don't do any damage, don't disrespect the other team or damage their buses, just say you ain't playing today. If United drop 3 points every time they play at home they will be relegated and maybe the Glazers will leave. A pipe dream, and easy to say 3000 Mile's away, but I am getting desperate.
  13. That is the problem. Glazers think they will get £10b in aa few years. They won't sell till they bleed the club dry.
  14. This could expand quickly. Some in the US Congress will see this as an act of war by Iran. Senile Joe is in an election year and he is no better than even in the polls. Politi ans always think a good little war takes peoples minds of the domestic problems.
  15. I guees we have far different views on what is left and right , I find all the mainstream media that I have access to in Canada, the US and the UK ( i know there's Tory newspapers in the Uk) are left of centre, not far left but diffently on the left. This time around if you look at the protests in the streets and on the university campuses, other than people with Palestinian heritage it is left wing political groups and individuals protesting. In the pro Israel counter protests other than the Jews, you see right leaning individuals and groups. Righly or not, in the West this conflict is being seen in terms of left v right as well as a conflict between Israel and the Arab world. Yes every American administration has been pro Isarel and remain Israel's biggest friend, and the US , British and Canadian media used to be, but they have changed over the last decade. The BBC and the CBC ( Canada) has forbidden their reporters and on air personnel from calling HAMAS terrorists. In Canada there are more interviews on TV with Palestinians than Israelis. The reporters with the big three networks in the US constantly challenge the Israeli spokesman , but take everything the Palastinian spokespersons say as Gospel. yeah Rucksackfranzose, the political terms, conservative, socialist , left and right have different meanings in Europe and North American. To me all European conservatives are too left for my thinking.
  16. I believe the media gives Hamas a pass and are quick to jump on Israel because the mainstream media is left of centre and see this conflict in political terms of left v right. People other than those personal involved who support Israel are seen as right of centre , religious Christians and Trump supporters, while support for Palastinians is seen as pulling for the under dogs and picked up by the Left and overeducated white liberals. While it's hard to put a political spin on what Russia is doing, just seems old fashioned imperialism and the media hates colonialism. Putin is supposed to be on the left but acts like a right wing dictator, so it's hard for the political types to pin him down. Hard to say what Israel believes the situation is with the hostages, it could be they are trying to actually locate the many different places they are being held. These places will be likeca maze and booby trapped, so Israel needs accurate information and that takes time. I think if they believed all the hostages were dead , they would have already begun the ground attack.
  17. Didn't the rocket explode in the parking lot where many had gone for refuge thinking the hospital is a safe place and it was the fuel still left in it that exploded and caused a fire? Resulting in more deaths outside the hospital than inside.
  18. I am not happy at all. Owning only 25% , keeps the Glazers around. They needed to be gone completely. The Qataris' bid would have resulted in the debt being paid off, a new stadium , new training grounds, the development of the lands around the stadium and world class players being bid on. I don't see any of that happening under Ratcliffe . There is no guarantee that Ratcliffe's £1.4 billion will be spent on the club, I would be pleasantly surprised if any of it didn't end up in the pockets of the Glazers. They say Ratcliffe will have control of the football operations , but what does that mean if the £1.4 B isn't used to pay of the debt or improve the infrastructure around the club. United and its supporters have been hanging on since SAF retired, hoping against hope that things will turn around, its been a dark decade, but for me at least the Qataris buying 100% of the club was the light at the end of the tunnel. Now I feel I won't live long enough to see United win the Premier or the Champions League.
