  1. Another turgid 5 years of Conservative erosion of the welfare state, enforced poverty upon those who already can't afford it and tax breaks to those who can. There's something to be said about a system of government where your biggest backers can smear your opponents so as to protect their own arse against a sizeable tax bill. There's an almost an absurdity to the sway Rupert Murdoch holds. It can surely only result in electoral reform, financial backers should not have this leverage over the public.
  2. It's fait accompli if the results match the exit polls. His position will be untenable. Corbyn will go.
  3. A good time on election night for your missus by the sounds of it!
  4. You have very smooth balls if that's what you call them
  5. I'm providing Questions and Answers support at a morning workshop tomorrow, but that's it. So I'm tempted to stay up, go to client site and return home to sleep off the disappointment of another 5 years of Tory rule.
  6. VAR makes sense in it's essence, in it's application it's still troubled by human error, threshold checks and seemingly inconsistent as to what situations it is used in. The referees need to check the video footage at the side of the pitch, that has to be a given, also fouls need to 'make sense' again because charging down freekicks with your arm isn't a penalty yet the ball innocuously striking a hand from a shot in play is. That makes no sense. Further confusing is that the former IS a foul almost everyone else VAR is used on the continent. I'm not sure why the Premier League apply VAR the way they do, maybe some hubris about being able to do it better for 'the best league in the world' but it needs some serious working on. the referees need to take VAR more seriously too and incorporate it into their association and make it something they focus on getting right or they should just let a 3rd party review footage, flag something and then let the referee decide. The incident yesterday with Barnes at Watford, it makes referee Tierney look particularly poor. Watford have a corner and VAR awards a penalty for an earlier foul - which always looked a penalty in my view - but it seemingly took the Burnley players to be up in arms about the injustic of it before VAR announced it is checking the incident, that can't be right if it was indeed the case. It completely undermined the credibility of the match officials because without a screen for them to check to concur, we may as well ditch in game referees and use some arena AI to halt and commence play. I still wouldn't scrap VAR but it needs some serious reforms.
  7. Sampson is an odious cunt. Get him out of football.
  8. At no point have we or do we tell people what to think. We are not cool with long debunked conspiracies that nonsensically claim people were not forcibly exterminated through the use of Zyklon 5, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. That is not something we want associated with the forum. If that makes me a cunt, then I'll gladly be that cunt. Cheers
  9. This article is compelling reading. https://www.thejc.com/news/news-features/confronting-holocaust-denial-proof-happened-nazism-auschwitz-international-tracing-service-1.461807 What I find curious is the need to dismiss years of study and indeed evidence into what occurred during WWII. The atrocities were documented by even the Nazi's themselves, Mengele's diaries a horrific insight of life under Nazi imprisonment. Holocaust denial, much of which based on the long since debunked work of Leuchter, is a just weird thing to engage in. It's superfluous revisionism.
  10. I'm troubled by this, Kel. The evidence is abundant
  11. The family are all battling a viral infection at the moment, so this genuinely brightened my day
  12. Why the fuck does Per Mertesacker sound like a Ali G impersonator? I watched the video of him talking about the youth academy and I was taken aback by how different he sounds. He's lost his German accent ... Innit bruv!
  13. It didn't make it through. There's a bit of confusion surrounding what actually happened.
  14. It's just another example of The Incredible ineptitude of the owners. if they can't get players names right when they're signing them, I'm not remotely surprised that they'reselling players before being certain the replacements are coming in. It's a really poor squad for the season ahead really poor. Too old too slow and no fight
  15. VAR is effectively becoming threshold selective human error. That's not acceptable. If it's use is to eliminate clear infractions, that's not occuring. Fannying around with millimetres on an offside but not giving penalties when they should be, doesn't help the image of VAR.
  16. The application of VAR has been fucking awful. At this rate we may as well remove humans from officiating entirely!

If he's the one in the floral dress, I'm getting straight on a pain to give him a good knobbing
  18. I don't blame VAR for yesterday's handball debacle. I blame the ridiculous handball laws that have overly confused the situation.
  19. Right. No more. I've addressed this. If there is more of it anyone involved will find themselves taking a break. Clear?
  20. That is the curious thing, in Germany they were absolutely certain Sane was going to Bayern. I don't know what had been said behind closed doors to create that belief but it would have helped if Sane had come out and stated he wanted to stay.
