The overwhelming sense I get as a neutral is that Lampard does not know what to do with all the players that have been brought in. The system he's operating makes no sense whatsoever. I disagree with Jorginho being a passenger, he's one of the best passers and calm in possession, the problem as I see it is that playing him at the base of the midfield with Kante pushed to the right fundamentally does not work. Play Kante centrally and use Jorginho as a floating 2nd pivot. Until Pulisic is back it may even be wiser to play a more narrow system rather than playing attacking midfielders on the flanks where the game bypasses them.

I think he's flattered to deceive on early promise. As much as I would love to go back and forth over this, Havertz has proven himself over a long period of consistency and is far more effective and dare I say pragmatic player than Grealish. Comparing price like for like is false economy. If I sell you a VW worth 25k for 50k and you pay it, it doesn't mean that car is comparable to a Porsche you could buy for the same price. Dortmund sold Dembele for over 100m euros and it unlikely he'll ever fulfil his potential to justify that money. It's a non-sequitur.
